So I got a message from a buyer a few days ago that said 7 offer. Yep just 7 offer. It was for an item I have listed that is already stupid cheap because it is something I want to get rid of. With the current price and free shipping, I am only making a few bucks but that's fine because I want them gone. At $7, I would lose money.
I answered that the price was as low as I could go since the buyer is getting free shipping that I am paying. I looked at their feedback left for others after I sent the message. All I saw was red! I couldn't block them fast enough! My BBL has been getting a workout lately for some reason.
The next day I get another message from the same 'buyer'...send me offer. I didn't respond and I did not send an offer to be sure! I then ended the listing. There was one watcher on it (probably this person) and I just might hear back from them again.
I also think this is a flaw in the blocking system. I have checked the box for no messages. We were not in a transaction, so they shouldn't have been able to contact me again, but did.

At least this maroon outed itself before making a purchase and then demanding a discount. Or worse.

They can keep sending you messages because you replied to their first message. They could also get around the block by going through your feedback page and sending a message not related to an item.
I agree that blocks should be more effective than they are. Like many other sellers, my block list has grown exponentially longer throughout 2020-2021 than it has in any previous year selling.

I know! All I could think of was please let me block this person before they can buy it! All the FB complained of was slow shipping, scamming sellers with long rants that would stay on the page forever. Next time I will look at FB first, block if need be, and not respond. I was taught manners, but in this case, ignoring is the right thing to do! Then if the purchase was made, I would have heard about poor communication. You can't win.

@downunder-61 I can see where the title could be read in 2 different ways.
Nothing like pushing the cat off your lap and having to get off the couch and block someone right before bed!

Another "flaw" in the blocking system is that the user can simply create a nw account 30 seconds and wipe the slate clean.
