communication and shipping cost DSR effect?

Sorry if this subject is old but it's new to me and I can't find any up to date eBay policy mentioning it. Im baffled by the ability of a buyer to damage your DSR for shipping costs when I charge less than the post office charges me. I'm also totally confused about the "communication" category when I always reply to any questions in a timely manner. How do these categories affect a seller?

None of that negatively affects your account any more.

I have no idea what my DSRs are on my seling accounts - I have not looked at them in years.

I do not believe DSRs are consider for any seller ratings (Above Standard, Top Rated, Powerseller, etc.)

I suppose they may still be a component of Best Match placement, but I doubt they factor very prominently.

Your lowest rating is 4.9! Nobody cares, buyers don't care even if they were to look and even then they would have to hover to even be able to tell that the stars are 4.9 not 5.

eBay doesn't care either, DSR's are used for nothing these days.

-------------

Believe it or not, some buyers think they're supposed to rate how happy they are with USPS prices.

At least for the moment.

When it does, eBay will apply it retroactively across the previous 12 months so there will be no way to avoid the fee increase defects for your suddenly sub par performance that wasn't sub par when it actually happened...

Chaos is NOT an "industry standard".

Neither feedback nor DSRs are used by eBay to measure your selling account.

EBay does use disputes and how you handle them, Defects, and reports of late arrival.

That last is no more 'fair' than the DSRs were and I have no idea why it was revived. The seller can control how quickly she shipped but not how long delivery will take.

In any case:

Most buyers think 95% is a jim dandy FB rating.

Most buyers don't understand why a seller can have 500 negs and still have a 100% FB rating.

No one, not even sellers, ever understood the DSRs.
