Re: clickable buttons missing on page to accept offer

Glitch ? not sure here is answer from another post

In order to streamline the offers page they have removed the buttons (which have always been there) and have included them on a next page which you can access by clicking on the box which contains the buyer's ID

Re: clickable buttons missing on page to accept offer

Stream lining is not what I would call this, lol.

Good Lord, how is someone supposed to know they have to do that?

Good one ebay !

Thank goodness I saw the solution to this problem on a thread yesterday.

I had an offer this morning,

& was only able to respond because of what I had read here before.

Re: clickable buttons missing on page to accept offer

We still don't know if this is truly intentional or if it's an error. Reports are coming in from both sides which is understandable since some CS reps say one thing, some say the opposite, and some can't read english well enough to read the scripted answers or understand what a caller is saying (encountered 2 of those recently).

No announcement was made about such a big change in navigation, but it's not like they notified us when the # of BOs changed, either. 😞

Re: clickable buttons missing on page to accept offer

Oh holly you know they like to keep us on our toes, jut like changing the Best offer amounts to 5 and 10 offers withour telling us.
They figure we wil figure it out sooner or later Smiley Surprised

@Anonymous
Hey Trinton remember my Weekly chat post about ebay's lack of announcements to US the Sellers ?
Please pass it along that they are quick to inform us of increases, Seller updates, ending sellers old stale listings, etc.
But the IPR issue they are sneaking in, the Best offer up to 5 & 10 they slipped in & now a format change they slip in !!!!
All with nothing no announcements. This is pathetic

Here is a small amount of sellers posts, there are more but think you get the idea !

Re: clickable buttons missing on page to accept offer

OMG.  If anyone operated the way Ebay does they would be suspended.  What on earth makes ebay think you can hide a button like that and not tell anyone?  I mean how many people messed with their computer trying to access those buttons.   Total nonsense.  I work early in the morning ebay time when if you call customer support they are "closed".  Another pet peeve.   This is just silly and Ebay should put out an immediate apology  explaining what happened.

Sorry Copper But my gut feeling is it's not a glitch but ebays new way to accept the BO from buyers
This way sellers see the buyer ID on offers since there can be so much back & forth since they can throw out 5 to 10 back & forth offers now because 3 wasn't enough !!!!!!!!!!!
ebay is aware sellers may end up accepting wrong offers because of the new mess they just made.

Just my thoughts

Thank you for highlighting this! We definitely want to keep our sellers in the loop as much as possible and this is great feedback for us to improve on.

It's being worked on by our tech team so there is an issue we're resolving. That said, the workaround would be to select the offer from the left-hand menu where the options would then be available. I know it can be frustrating to stumble across these types of things and we're absolutely sharing that feedback.

Re: clickable buttons missing on page to accept offer

A little communication goes a long way.

It's too bad that ebay refuses to show some courtesy to the sellers

that have to deal with these constant issues.

Thank you @Anonymous for at least responding to us here.

Re: clickable buttons missing on page to accept offer

Issues like this are why I read various eBay discussion boards every day.  It's a form of self defense.

Sometimes (often?) the discussion boards are the only place on the entire, vast eBay site where information is available about glitches and changes to everyday site functions.

The Site Status page in Community is, short of Armageddon, useless.

Heidi, please carry back that having to click onto the offer box (with no instruction whatsoever to indicate this change) is NOT "streamline", is NOT user-friendly, is NOT intuitive, and is NOT helpful.  It is an annoyance and while it may only take a few seconds, adding those seconds up results in lost time over a work day (if you're lucky enough to receive many offers, obviously).

Also, please remind whomever is in charge of general communications that he/she/they need to really step up their game.   He/she/they have definitely not shown aptitude lately.

Heard & understood! Thank you for the feedback, @terrycanarsky. We'll get this passed along and see what we can do to make changes to communications in the future.
