changing handling time

Some time ago I decided to work on issues of not shipping fast e nough by setting my handling time to 3 days. Have had many emails of the "when will you ship?" variety. But I was also on Amazon with a tight turnaround and unfortunately I had to treat ebay as a second-class citizen.

I am now only on Ebay and it's my goal this year to ship faster and have been mostly successful. I've had a few I have been shipping on day 3 if I can't immediately find the stuff.  Ebay wants me to shave off a day. But my TOS all say to allow 3 days.  Is this a non-issue? It's not like everyone reads my TOS. I get "do you combine?" questions frequently even though I drone on about it in my listings.

Do you put in your listings that you have 1-day handling or do people look at the delivery date?

Maybe you know this, but I looked at a handful of your listings, and some say 2 days and others say 3 days.

@quicksilverdiecast

I see that you have a variety of handling times on your listings.  Just a little FYI, handling times that are 5 or more days do get a reduction in the search returns.  Ebay's algorithm demotes those listings automatically.

IMHO sellers should not put their handling time in their TOS or what their return policy is.  As you know we have separate fields for that information, which is extremely handy if you need to make a change in either of those areas.

I don't put anything in my TOS that has a separate field for that info.  When you do that, then the Bulk Editor can't be used for changes that would take you only a couple of minutes will now take you hours and hours of work to change each listing individually.

I would absolutely get rid of this statement on all listings that contain it "I can allow a few days for adding to your order, but not as long as a week."  That can cause you issues that are rather self inflicted and could affect the health of your selling account for late shipments.  It is not clear enough and sounds like they can wait up to 6 days to pay.  I really wouldn't try to word it better, I would just get rid of it all together.

How about instead of being a bully, you READ the entire sentence I posted.  Reading and comprehension go hand in hand.
