No, they don't make sense. I've come to the conclusion that ebay no longer wants not only postcard sellers but other collectible and antique sellers as well.

I buy a large number of postcards and I like most dable in selling. I have listed my postcards the same why for 22 years. ebay did the same change to baseball cards and made it so time consuming and totally complex I stopped buying and listing sportcards. I find with any tech companies, someone has to justify their position by adopting change....in this case dumb change.

Not just the post card section:
eBay is going with a different indexing to search system; item specifics will be a major part of this.
Of course this also goes to the promotion of listings a user may have and of course a more daily profit for eBay over the final value fees.
Those specifics are key words that can be user to promote the sellers listing of course. Pay to play (sell game ebay is doing). Most small users it would be a waist of money of course to do so.
Or what is called the dynamic experience today on eBay.
Will it work?? Not so far for the small seller for sure.

Is anyone else who sells postcards very upset about the changes ebay made to listings? There are no longer any categories that are appropriate -Topographical and Non-Topographical!!!!!! The specifics they make you fill in are ridiculous. For artists of vintage postcards they have choices of Andy Warhol but no Ellen Clapsaddle or John Winsch! They have some publishers for choices of artists also!! They ask for the year that the postcard was made- how many postcards have you seen that have that printed on them? They ask if the postcard was made pre-war, between Wars etc. They no longer have the eras that list undivided back 1901-1907, white border, linen, etc. A feature is "divided back" but you have to manually add "undivided back"!! Now I have to go back to all of the listings that I already have on (700) and make all of these changes!!! How are these improvements??? Who the heck made the changes? It couldn't have been anyone who knows anything about vintage postcards!!!!
