Re: cancelling a Bid!

you can do it but what I do is to mention to the bidder that they can do it themselves

it simple to cancel a bid but its going to cancel every bid they have made on that  auction

you cant just cancel the high bid,if the high bidder has bid 4x then it cancels out all 4 bids

if they have not done it within 24 hours I usually go back in and do it myself

I do not think most bidders know how to cancel a bid. thats why they are asking you to do it

you can go here to do it

Yes you can cancel and block bidders. Go to Seller Hub > Shortcuts.  🤗

Re: cancelling a Bid!

Buyers can retract their own bids (if there is at least 12 hours remaining), send the buyer this link:

Re: cancelling a Bid!

If a bid is retracted or canceled when the auction has more than 12 hours left, then ALL of the bids placed by that bidder will disappear.  They can re-bid if they want to (unless you have put them on your blocked bidder list).

I don't understand why you ask the buyer to retract their bid, rather than just canceling it right away.  First: Usually they don't have a valid reason so you're asking them to lie. Second: During the time that you're waiting for them to retract (up to 24 hours), you might lose out on a real, valid bidder who sees the inflated high bid and decides not to bid on the auction.  IMHO it's best to get the auction back on track immediately.

When the auction has more than 12 hours left, any bid cancellation or retraction will remove all of the bids that the bidder has placed.

Re: cancelling a Bid!

Yes, you can cancel a single bid from a bidder without cancelling them all from that bidder.  However, I would advise against it as it can hurt your reputation as a seller since it may cause other bidders to question your integrity and suspect shilling.  Frankly, a bidder requesting such a thing is, in my opinion, either ignorant of how the bidding process works, careless in their bidding habits or disreputable.  Any of these makes them someone I don't care to do business with.  Thus I would cancel all of their bids and block them.

If it is too close to the end of the auction and the cancellation of all their bids would cause the selling price to drop too drastically, I would deny the cancelation request and let the auction end normally.  If they were the winner it would be their option to either pay or not and receive a strike for non-payment or request a cancelation of the transaction which you could accept and relist the item with the least amount of damage to your reputation as a seller.  Of course, I would still block the bidder to avoid possible future headaches.
