I'm finding the answer that you can't edit your item description (or other things) on an auction listing that has a bid, but my listing does NOT have a bid, so why can't I edit whatever I want?

You can't edit if the listing has less than 12 hours remaining. Is that your situation here?

The OP's only auction has just 3 hours left to run, so as you suspected that's why it can't be revised. According to the chart on the Help page about listing revisions, the seller can still add to the description during those final 12 hours:
Also the seller can still end the listing, up until the last moment.

Could it also be possible the seller either made an offer to watchers or had an offer recently?

That doesn't matter. Revision is blocked during the final 12 hours of an auction whether or not there's an active offer or counteroffer.

I thought the same but i just read the revisions (link provided above) and it does say you can do some things. Of course the price and duration still can not be changed.
This is for Auctions less than 12 hours left.

Yes, the OP had mentioned revising the description and that's why I pointed out that the chart said he could still add to it. I guess it would have been clearer if I had specified, "Revision of the description is blocked during the final 12 hours".

Thanks for the clarification. I thought i was mis reading. Also thanks for the link in your previous message. I did not know that you could do any of those additions/changes with less than 12 hours left. Learned something today.
Thanks again!
Also if the OP does have an offer pending, they will not be able to make any changes.

Yes, thank you, that was it, the 12 hour thing.

Yes, you are.
Post #3 includes a link to the comprehensive Help page about revisions, including handy reference charts such as what can or cannot be done within the final 12 hours.
