If I don't sign up for MP and had some listings, are those items allowed to stay up and be sold using Paypal? The wording just seemed to say I can't edit them or do new ones..

If they were listed with PayPal, you'll be paid into PayPal if they sell.

Seems payments for "auctions" that started before you switch over will go to PP.
Not sure about auto relist auction funds.
"Fixed price listing" sales funds will go to MP, and be unavailable until you provide a checking account for deposit.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do wonder why you don't just sign up for managed payments. I didn't want to either, but have had zero issues since August when I was opted in. It's just different ; you will get the hang of it just like PayPal. One thing I like is that the fees for the item aren't charged until payment is received. So if you have an auction where the buyer doesn't pay, you aren't out the fees up front. When you open an INR case, you are just giving the buyer a strike, not recovering fees.
One thing I have learned on eBay: change happens quarterly. I have learned to just go with it because I want to keep selling here because I like it and I make money.

If you don't sign up for MP you can't edit, you can't list any more items. Your current listings will stay up and use PayPal but for a limited time. They will remove them at some point and possibly as they come up for the 30 day renewal on goods till canceled. If you sign up for MP get a separate bank account just for ebay payouts. If you don't sign up you won't be able to sell anymore on ebay.

I'm not making a separate bank account and giving it and my ssn to ebay just to sell a few things a month. I'd just go back to Amazon if I liked waiting for payouts into a bank account.

"I'm not making a separate bank account and giving it and my ssn to ebay just to sell a few things a month."
Neither was I. The bank account that I attached is my decades old personal account. PayPal had my SSN way back then... I saw nothing nefarious in giving it to eBay.
I only sell a few things a month and I opted into MP in August of 2019. Once you adapt, it's doable. Godspeed.

I never gave Paypal my ssn as I signed up to it a long time ago. But saying that I trust Paypal so why not eBay is like saying you trust John so why not Bob... Paypal is a dedicated financial company and Ebay won't even decide if I can have multiple watchlists or not based on some unknown factor when I login.
