A buyer complained today. They live in IL and the item I shipped them shows tracking delivered to FL. This was just like any other sale, I bought label off ebay and tracking automatically uploaded. I did not change the address before printing the label, no manaul tracking uploading. I check back on the address page after they complained and the address I saw was indeed a IL address. I look back in my history and see the shipping address ebay gave me when I first printed the label was in FL. I have no idea whats going on or how this happened, if anybody could give me some insight thatd help. Attached photos are when I first printed the label on 9/10 and the shipping address I see now on 9/12.
the two addresses have different names, when I go back on the sale page the buyers name from the first (incorrect*) label is listed.
thanks

If the first screen shot is from when you purchased the label, it says the buyer hasn’t paid yet. If you bought the label before he paid, then....he changed his address during payment. This is why you are never supposed to buy a label before the buyer has paid. If you didn’t ship the address on his payment, you will have to refund in full.

Why did you ship before the buyer paid?

When a buyer pays by PayPal, it is the shipping address on the PayPal payment that matters, not the buyer's address on his eBay account. The buyer's address didn't "change", you simply didn't have it at time you printed the first label.
Did you miss this big orange banner at the top of the first screen shot?

ok i had sorta came to that conclusion, i put automatic payment required on every single listing, i guess i forgot to on this one. So i printed the label without even looking assuming it was paid for. When the buyer paid it changed addresses.
Sep-10-18 11:03:27 PDT Item was bought
Sep-10-18 11:05:20 PDT label printed
Sep 10, 2018 11:06:58 PDT buyer paid (automatically changes address after paying)
buyer claims he has no idea what that address is and wants his money back.

hello i see the big orange letters 🙂 i have sold hundreds of items all requiring automatic payment, I forgot to add it on this transaction so i just printed the label without knowing.

It is their default eBay address. eBay keeps a default shipping address because PayPal is not the only payment method that eBay supports.

Again, the buyer did not change the address. The buyer had not chosen a shipping address yet, but you did not wait for the payment so you had no idea which address the buyer wanted to choose.
