buyer scam or not? (item is sold but received email to change address)

Ebay shows buyer already paid the item, but I got a message(within few mins after the item is sold) from a stranger buyer telling me to change to another shipping address. Bote (buyer and the stranger buyer account) are new to ebay, no purchase history. I messaged to the buyer and wanted to confirm shipping address. Buyer confirmed the address, and it's the one on order. But it's very suspicious considering the fact that it's a new account and no purchase history.

How can I validate it's a real buyer and not scammer? What if I ship the item to the address on the order, and the buyer claim item lost or other reasons that out of my control? Has anyone had any experience before? Please help!

So you mean the real buyer (person who made payment on this order) is REAL, but the one who messaged me is scam? Is it possible that the “real” buyer has two accounts and this buyer is also the one who messaged me to change address?

It is unlikely that this buyer is one and the same person who wants you to send it to a different address. You have been targetted by a scammer hoping to get a free drone by preying on your inexperience, but you were smart to come here first.

It sounds like the first buyer is legit and the second is the scam, trying to get you to ship fo an alternate address. But your legit buyer has confirmed the address, so i think you are ok to proceed.

There are new sellers coming to the platform all the time, and one cannot tell a scammer from a legit buyer based solely on a feedback score or selling history.

That said, there is no way to remove all risk from online selling. The time to assess that risk is prior to listing, not after the sale

The problem you face now is if you cancel the sale, you could get sanctioned by eBay for not completing the transaction. But sanctions or no, no one can force you to ship. It is frowned upon to cancel, but only you can weigh the risks and the benefits.

Simply stated ...... .You are required to ship to that address that came with the payment. ALWAYS.

In this case you need signature confirmation so make sure you pay for that service.

You do not even need to respond to any message you receive.

NEVER ship until the payment shows in your Paypal account .

ALWAYS Check by logging into your Paypal account.
