Most of my buyers are absolutely fabulous. However, having been at this for awhile, I have found the need to block a few bidders ... my reasons vary but I do try to be fair as well as protect myself. It doesn't always work. When a few bidders find they have been blocked, they really go off the rails. Two hours ago, I received two messages from an ebay user - they were vague but sinster ( 'uuuuuuuuuuuuuu .... I remember u .......... I will get u'). I wasn't quite sure at the time what the buyer meant, so I replied saying I was sure what they were asking but if they clarified, I would try to help. Apparently, I had blocked one of their ids years ago (I've now blocked their new id) and this has angered them immensely. They are 'going to watch me' and 'going to get me', etc. So, far - less than 2 hours from the first messages, they have sent more than 20. Yes, I have stopped reading them. My point in writing this ... there has to be a better solution / better seller protection / a mental health program for disgruntled buyers. Does the community have any thoughts ... the funnier the better, I could use a laugh.

You should have never replied to him in the first place.
Just gets them going. Most are basement dwellers - all bark, no bite.
Better to leave them be.

HI ... True, you are right. But ... I will argue that alot of messages I receive are not the clearest. Last week, a buyer sent me a message 'My tender heart is bruised'. I messaged her and asked what the issue was - to please clarify. Apparently, she loved the vintage dress that I had sold her so much it had bruised her heart. .... I don't even have words to respond to that - although it was positive.

You can mark "Don't allow blocked buyers to contact me. (Buyer won't see the "Contact Seller" button on your Q&A page.)"
Site Preferences-Buyer requirements-Block buyers who:...Edit.

Hi ... Thanks! I didn't know that was an option and I will definitely try it. Happy Holidays!

That sounds a bit dramatic. "My tender heart is bruised."

As someone else said most threats are just that threats. I lost weeks of sleep due to some woman telling me "I'm going to have a lot of fun buying from you and giving you negative feedback. If I'm blocked all my family & friends will buy from you and give you negative." Nothing ever happened. She was mad at me because someone else bought a book she wanted for her child.

HI ... Yes, exactly what I mean. These crazy and hateful things thrown at sellers are so unpoliced. Buyer's can't receive negative feedback. There is really no recourse for sellers when there is this insane buyer behaviour.

It's amazing what people will do. She could have bought when she saw it, or just said, oh, well, and kept on searching. Sorry this happened to you, but glad it was just idle words.
Nothing like a lack of personal responsibility. Just blame someone else, it's always their fault.
