**bleep**...eBay algorithm not working

Within the past year as a power seller, I’ve had 5-500 active listings, chotzkies 2 big ticket items, & I always received many daily messages. I haven’t had 1 message or offer in nearly a month, let alone a bid. So, either the wacky algorithm is burying my auctions, the shoppers r 2 sparse, &/or both. Either way, I’m done for good after the holidays.

Ebay is experiencing lots of issues this past month.  There is no doubt of that.  Lots and lots of complaints of low and no sales.  I know that doesn't help you but until they get this mess fixed, I'm not sure there is anything any of us can offer you in the way of assistance.

About the only thing I could offer is that if auctions aren't working well for you right now, try running more GTC listings.  Bring back the auctions with it appears things are picking up.

The tide shift of buyer metrics is also changing. You mentioned that you sell tchotchkes. That is a dwindling field, as minimalists are moving in.  The buyers of those items are  becoming more specific minded  (kitch, mid-century modern etc.) and few and far between. The Millennials of today will not be the future grandparents with hundreds of dust catchers aligned on shelves, tables and walls. If you go to any Goodwill store and peek in the cart of a geriatric and then have a look in the cart of the 27 year old mother,...the contents are quite different. The items I sell also cater to an age-centric base; not only the genre of buyer, but the very item itself, and I have really noticed a difference. The customer base that I once enjoyed, is sadly dying off.
