I was bidding on some things, the current price was about $75 below my max bid. At 12 hrs. to go in the bidding someone bod $1.01 higher than my max bid amount. then near the end of the bidding I bid it up one more time by about $4 and won the items. Question is does a seller see the maximum bid of the people that are doing the bidding, or is the max bid of a buyer only known to the person bidding? Thanks

I haven't ran auctions in 3 years but I remember being able to see max bids. Regardless, as a buyer/bidder, I only bid near the end of an auction.

When a bidder puts in a Max Bid only the bidder sees the Max Bid,
The seller and other bidders can't see it.

Only the bidder themselves can see their maximum bid -- until it is outbid or tied.
There's no reason for eBay to show the seller the full amount of a bid. If a seller could see the amount of a bidder's full proxy bid, too many sellers would succumb to the temptation to shill bid.

NO ONE can see a bidders hidden max bid. Only the bidder themself.

A seller does not see the max bid of the person doing the bidding until it becomes an active bid, then everyone can see it.

Nope they don't see your max bid. Also, the bidders max bid is not shown. So they could have bid a lot more and only the amount needed to win is shown.
