am i being scammed?

i have an item listed for $130 and a buyer paid $150. i also received an email from paypal saying i received a payment of that price. $130 for the item, $9.90 for shipping and $10.53 for sales tax. the money also shows inside of my paypal account, but why would i be getting the sales tax money? 

i checked his profile and it’s a new one from this year with zero ratings or items listed. i haven’t sold on ebay for a couple years, but i thought the seller was paid AFTER the customer received the item. i haven’t even so much as shipped the item but somehow i’m already paid?

am i being scammed here and should i cancel the order?

For people still using PayPal.......

If you look at the payment details page you will see that you received the Sales Tax and IMMEDIATELY it was taken from your account and sent to eBay.

On eBay sellers are paid immediately and under the old PayPal system billed monthly for fees.

Under the new Managed Payment system, sellers are paid immediately AFTER fees are deducted.

There are some sites out there which do keep payments until after delivery but eBay isn't one of them Except for the New Seller Holds (also can apply to some transactions eBay considers "high risk").

New sellers MAY have their fund held for up to 21 days but this doesn't mean you don't get paid immediately, it means you are paid but do not have immediate access. The funds will show in your PayPal account but they will be "on hold" (you can't withdraw or spend).

Nothing you posted indicates ANY type of "scam".

Oh Dear Lord.  You always get paid BEFORE you ship the item. you do not get the tax money.  It goes through your PP account but E bay pulls that immediately and acts as a tax facilitator.

If you are sure the money is in your PP account then ship the widget.  Make sure you ship to the address in e bay.

I suspect a SCAM....with a Zero Feedback Buyer and an electronic item...

You need to Log In to your Paypal account and see if the payment is actually

there...Do not assume that a Message from Paypal is confirmation pf payment...It may also

be Fraudulent...sent by the Scammer...Be careful on this transaction....I do think it may be a SCAM...

i just checked that and i see the tax was taken out by ebay. thanks for letting me know ill go ahead and ship out.

You do realize that $130 + $9.90 + $10.53 does not equal $150.00?
