Does anyone know why eBay is taking it upon itself to having buyers make offers on my listings?
I am really confused on this.
Thank you

Ebay doesn't care whether you make profit or not, they just want to see the FVFs come from as many sales as possible, no matter what they are. It's pretty underhanded that they switch that on with listings and allow a back door to have offers whether the seller wants it or not.

If you go to contact seller on an item for sale, there is a choice to make an offer.

Why? to possibly increase sales.......
If you don't want to accept/counteroffer.....just say I'm not accepting offers on this item.

Have you tried finding the "manage offer settings"?

I can't find such a setting anywhere in site preferences; I was looking around for one just now.
The Make Offer option is a checkbox on the Selling form, so perhaps that is a sticky setting that carries its On/Off choice forward from one listing to the next until you change it again.
Aside from that, I have read in the past (from an eBay posting in the Community boards) that eBay will automatically add the Make Offer option to any listing whose price (or opening price, for auctions) is higher than the average selling price for that item. I assume you can turn it off manually, but I don't know how you can stop its automatic addition in the first place.

with/without best offer, buyers can still send a message with an offer........unless you turn off messages from buyers.........frankly, that's what I thought the Poster was referring to..........

I did think about that, yes, but the OP's latest batch of listings is showing Best Offer, which does not sound like what the OP had in mind for those, given his question here...

I turned off my best offer option, however when I check my listings, it magically re appears. Wish they would just respect my choices and leave my listings alone.

...Not to mention disrespectful.

Could it be that you are using EBAY app which has "best offer" automatically turned on or if you manually turned on "best offer" EBAY bots will "remember that for next time you create new listing". I see you still have many items with "best offer" turned on.
I know that EBAY bots "remember things" because when my hubby created new listing and then when I created new listing later on "hubby's shipping method or quantity or return policy" would be remembered and screw up my listing.

You mean the setting where I set a few BIN listings to not have Best Offer set, but then I find that message that ebay set that?

Not only that, I've noticed they changed my listings in the middle of the night or very early in the morning, while I'm asleep. Talk about being sneaky.

They have done this to my listings too.
It really makes me mad, they change it without our consent, then tell us to go fix it if it's not what we want!
I have gotten the same email.
