I think most comments you see about Sri Lanka are because of the banking questions asked and we are a USA board and do not use Payoneer

There are good answers here if you search

I see you have zero feedback, if you had any for those transactions, you would be able to at least view the seller's ID and whether or not they are still registered.  Did you leave them any feedback at the time?

a question about my curiosity!!!

This and other boards have been inundated by questions from Sri Lankans during the time they couldn't sell on ebay because of their local banking restrictions.  Most of the questions were nonsensical for new sellers....  While many tried to answer, it was obvious it made no sense to a non seller and the questions kept coming.

Needless to say, many board members got tired of the same questions 5/10/20 a day and began to get rather snarky in answering.

Now that they can sell, thru Payoneer, we are getting questions about that......but the US (this board) doesn't use it and doesn't know anything about it...... so we are kind of back to the beginning on the questions.

a question about my curiosity!!!

You asked, so here you go:

Sri Lankans who wanted to sell on eBay were told -- falsely -- that starting threads on these forums, asking and answering questions, getting and receiving "Helpfuls," and earning "Badges" was equivalent to building feedback and would make them visible and reputable as sellers. They believed this falsehood and flooded every forum here with disingenuous and nonsensical posts.

To make it even more annoying, they could not even sell on eBay at that time. The ones who were attempting to sell here were using out-of-country PayPal accounts, in violation of Sri Lankan law and PayPal policy, and their accounts were suspended about as fast as they were created.

Then the time finally came when payment processing was made available in South Asia through Payoneer, so selling here became possible. However, to do so requires a lot of "paperwork" to satisfy Payoneer, eBay, and the Sri Lankan government. None of us here in the U.S. have the knowledge or experience needed to help with those matters, but the questions about them just keep coming.

And if they finally get everything sorted out and can sell, Sri Lankans start asking questions that they could, and should, answer for themselves using the quite good and easily accessed and understood information that eBay provides to all new sellers, along with all the other web resources.

So, that's it, even if I couldn't fit it into a nutshell:   Nearly every question asked by nearly every Sri Lankan seller for months on end has been either insincere, unanswerable, or unnecessary.
