Did you mean:

a peach of a [failed] bidder!

Guy messaged me to complain that somehow he lost out on an auction by seconds and was most unhappy about it. I explained about sniping software. Then he said to arrange for him to get it instead of the winning bidder. I said "no". Next salvo was to tell me I sold for way under "market value" whatever that is. Can hardly wait to see what he says  next. Hopefully he won't come up with ways to mess with my current listings. Maybe time to visit my BBL.

"Maybe" time to visit your BBL? Why haven't you done that already?

He said the book is worth $250 or something. Maybe he wanted me to cancel the sale and let him pay that amount? One can only wonder about how some folks operate.

Maybe since he lost the book on auction and you won't cancel the rightful bidder's win and give it to him, he's gonna needle you by saying that you lost out, anyway nyah nyah nyah (even though he obv wasn't going to pay anymore or he would have set a higher bid). Is this dude even 14 years old?

All  I know is that he's international so maybe they operate differently over there. I stopped reading his messages and put him on my BB list.

IMHO it was a  mistake to mention sniping software.  First of all, you have no way of knowing whether a bid was placed manually or through a sniping service; and second, many  bidders fail to understand how sniping (and sniping services) work and they conclude that they lost the auction due to some unfair mischief, rather than simply because somebody placed a higher bid.

I snipe stuff occasionally and you don't need software to do it.

Why in the world would you bring up sniping software?

"Dear buyer,

I'm sorry you were unable to place a bid in time. However, eBay controls the auction bidding process and eBay determines the winner of an auction. The seller cannot change the outcome.
Sincerely, Seller"
