Im after a little advice of how to proceed with regards to an item i am selling.
I received several offers from one individual, all of which were below what i was willing to accept so i declined them. This individual, from the first bid onwards, has been sending me increasingly passive-aggressive demands that i call them and given their number.
I have advised that due to working long hours and strange shifts i am unable to call and would prefer to deal with them via email - this information is also on my listing and i have said i will happily answer questions over email and would call the winning buyer. I am able to use the email function when at work but not able to call as signal is patchy as best. Also as a private seller i do not wish to call people i do not know as i am unwilling to have my mobile number known to strangers (i've had multiple issues with unknown callers, unpleasant prank calls and spamming calls)
This individual has ignored all these messages and continued to demand i phone them- the last demand using capital letters and exclamation points and giving their number in word form ( ZERO SEVEN.....etc) which made me quite uncomfortable.
I contacted ebay on chat and was advised to stop the from further bidding and messages but warned they could not stop the current conversation thread. I did this and had 2 days of quiet. This buyer has now started sending me messages demanding to know why i've blocked them!.
I am unsure how to proceed as it seems there is nothing in place to stop them from continuing to spam message me and i cannot fathom how to stop them at present- any advice?

You may want to add them to your blocked bidder list. It's sounds as though they are trying to pressure you or take the transaction off ebay

There's really nothing you can do but try to ignore them, don't reply to anything.
Giving his phone number in words rather than digits might not be a sign of anger, but rather a way to evade the bots that are searching for any clue that a member is soliciting an "off-eBay" transaction. Lately the bots and the penalties have been especially vigorous. Keep a record of the eBay chat if possible jsut in case you are accused of this (though that's not likely, given the context).

Just got up to the first few sentences.
Demands. And he has not even won it.
Why the need to explain further.
Blocked bidder list. And delete all future emails from him.
Problem solved.

As above. You don't owe him any response. (At all.)
At the first demand for a phone call, I would say something like, "I'm sorry that I cannot do phone calls. Please give me your questions here and I'll be happy to help." End of discussion. If he can't put his question(s) in writing, that's not your problem. He doesn't get to insist on other forms of communication and you're not required to answer either. Eventually he will find someone else to get mad at, as you are definitely not the first.

@cosmicdru, please forgive me but ... I am confused. You are unable to call but you said you would (prefer to email but you will) call the winning buyer but you do not wish to call people you do not know?

I agree with what everyone else said. So sorry this is happening, but he will eventually get tired of being ignored and will stop harassing you. Just hit "delete" on any future emails he sends. And block him before he can bid or buy!

Tried to edit my reply to include the following: The reason you don't want him bidding or buying from you is that if you ship something to him, he'll have your address. Plus, he'll keep making your life miserable.

Are you selling a car? That is the only common reason people call the winning bidder. If you are calling perspective bidders/buyers is a good idea. The people who want to talk to you are your serious buyers. Sport bidders will run up you auction and disappear.
If you are not selling a car or similarly complex transaction I'd say hes a nut and to just block and ignore.
