As a seller in Portugal, what company are you using to process your eBay sales' proceeds:  Managed Payments or PayPal or Payoneer?

To be clear, I'm referring to how you receive any money from things you sell, not how you can buy other people's listings.

Funds are on hold on ebay, managed payments I guess.

You'll first need to confirm whether Portuguese sellers have access to the Managed Payments program directly, or whether you'll be required to open and link a Payoneer account. Also confirm that you have successfully completed your enrollment in Managed Payments.

eBay requires a payment method for selling costs.  Add the credit card and refund the buyer.  Eventually your payout will go in your Payoneer account and you can pay your card back.

If it works like it does in the US, eBay might only be looking for the $.30 Transaction Fee. The funds on hold will go back to the buyer... but the seller is on the line for the Transaction Fee. So, yes... they may be looking for that.

While the funds are being held, you have to cover the refund.

When the buyers payment is released, they will send you those funds.

Have a great day.

They will prohibit the buyer requested cancellation until you comply with your credit card so that they can get their pathetic 30 cents.

On first glance I want to let you know that the vast majority of people misinformed you.

eBay will hold your cancellation hostage until you give them a credit card number.

The reason for this is they want their 30 cents. If you cancel and all the money is refunded to the buyer, where will poor old ebay get their 30 cents?

After all, the ethical choice(sarcasm) is here is obviously to hold the cancellation hostage and make you pay 30 cents first since it was the buyer who asked to cancel. That's pure eBay logic and ethics in action.

It's petty, trifling and pathetic but that's just how it is here.

None of this has any relevance at all. You obviously do not understand what the OP was talking about.

No, this is false.

eBay intends to charge 30 cents to the card. It's not going to be paid back at any point. The buyer funds will be sent straight back to the buyer in full.

ebay will take 30 cents from the seller by charging their credit card for it.

Now, there's this whole 'but you agreed to this' and 'where will poor old eBay get their 30 cents' argument that will likely be invoked once those who already answered this question fallaciously backtrack to pretend like they knew about this all along.

But the unethical thing is to hold a buyer requested cancellation hostage. It's just so poorly handled by ebay...and for what. 30 cents? It's pathetic.

As usual, you have the only correct answer here.

The funniest thing is that ebay used to never allow you to pay if you had a balance of under 1.00.

So when they hit the CC for the 30 cents, how much is it costing ebay to get that 30 cents back?

Yes. You will lose at least 30 cents. Possibly more if there are other one time fees eBay wanted to asses for this transaction.

I mean whatever about the 30 cents it's mostly just insulting that they hold the cancellation hostage. But probably better than whatever stop gap they had in place previously.
