'Your offer price is too large' error

Trying to 'reply with offer' to an interested buyer, offering a ~5% discount off roughly $150, but I keep getting the error mentioned in the thread title.  Is there some hidden threshold I'm not meeting or is this a bug?

In addition you can use eBay Messages ( My eBay-> Messages or Listing-> Contact Seller) to make the offer and explain your problem to the seller.

As far as I know @therogue-trader there's a 5% minimum discount on offers, markdowns, etc. I didn't think that applied to private offers though (reply with offer through eBay message) because those can be higher to bundle multiple items, etc. You can always lower the item price on the listing and tell the buyer first come, first serve. Or run a sale or create a private coupon code for the buyer.

I would offer an $8.00 discount, instead of $7.50 and see what happens.
