Per eBay message:
- One place to sell and get paid: manage all your selling and payments needs from within your eBay account.
- Simpler bills: all your fees in one place on your eBay bill.
- Consolidated pricing: all your fees in one place on one bill, plus special pricing for early opt-in*.
- Daily payouts: direct to your bank account. No need to transfer funds between accounts.
- New ways for buyers to pay: such as mobile payments with Apple Pay.
- Better protection: claim and chargeback seller protections provided by eBay, with one place to manage disputes.
- More control: accept your exclusive invitation now to get a head start on adapting your business to selling and getting paid on eBay.

I would like to have seen something about fees but I guess that will have to wait.
Overall, what I see so far looks good.

A thought just struck me - possibly because I forgot to duck - and, anyway, it is most likely sacrilege, or, at the very least, against justice and the American way, but WHY ....
.... Why is ebay going to charge a seller (who is not an employee, contractor or sub-contractor) a fee for getting paid? They already charge a 'use of site' fee, sale commission fee, etc. They are only providing a feature that may be convenient - for some - but isn't necessary and wasn't demanded or even widely requested of them, however, it will be mandatory? AND, all the while, they disallow any optional method of payment for which they will not get paid?
What's wrong with this scenario?

Adyen has some very sophisticated fraud protection built into their payment system.
07-17-2018 06:07 PM
I am interested in how this system protects from Hacks to your account . That is my main concern in that these funds are being transferred I guess through the ebay account, directly to our bank.

I would also prefer a transfer to Pay Pal. I enjoy their services and trust them explicitly.

I have read some very good things about Adyen. I think most people's concerns come due to the fact that neither the buyer nor seller will really have any thing to do with Adyen, just ebay. Ebay will control all monetary dispersements.

There is great concern it seems over people somehow getting access to info using a tranfer into your bank. I do not know how this will work any differently with Paypal with all of it in the seller hub which is directly connected to the Ebay account. So many posts on hacked accounts, It seems scary, but probably the same as what happens now but not completely sure. Security is of the utmost importance here for sure.

Ebay will be paying fees to Adyen, and they are not going to eat that cost. They will pass it on to sellers, plus a little extra for themselves, in all likelihood.

I hope the payments are in the account before shipping. We have 1 day handling and the quarenteed delivery. I would not ship anything until I know the payment has processed and not until then.

Ebay hasn't said as far as I have gleaned from other posts. I DID see a post from an etsy seller (they use adyen) who said if something is purchased on a Friday the monies don't even reach their bank until the next business day and then there is the bank hold...

Woop dee doo. All I wanted was ebay to show my listings. It didn't. So be it. Could care less about Apple Pay, Ayden, etc. Fix the glitches and please stop hiding listings, and I'll respect you again. For now. Nope.

Check the link in this post further up. Daily payments will take 2 to 4 business days to process to your bank.
So you will send the item first and a few days after the payment will be in your bank account. Better change your handling time to 5 days.

How can you tell when eBay is lying? Their lips are moving....... EBay has been "ineptly" trying to micromanage sellers since Donahoe and is always exclaiming "it's better for sellers (somehow)", but the reality is increased hardship for sellers (particularly smaller sellers) and more control over seller's goods/sales. The truth is this (along with other changes eBay makes) only benefits eBay and this is just the same and the purpose it to create another revenue stream at the cost of sellers. This wouldn't be a problem, if these moves were made because eBay is the "smartest person/company" in the room, but the truth is they (eBay) is just the greediest company in the room. Wenig, Donahoe and the rest of the eBay cronies are going to have to deal without my money (as a buyer/seller), as I refuse out of principle to continue patronizing a company that sucks the life out of people

And you will have to pay for a shipping label out of your own funds if you want one day shipping and hope ebay does all the right things for you.

Obviously, but that isn't the point. They make it mandatory and don't offer or allow any non-ebay options. And, you mean to tell me that they don't use the data from the mandatory enrollment for profit purposes?

I remember when this whole payment intermediary thing first came up, they said that paypal would still be an option for some time to come. I think their contract doesn't expire until 2021 if I remember right.
And I am 110% certain that ebay will sell all the personal data they will be collecting. I believe that is as much the purpose of this as controlling our money and holding it in their accounts, even for a short period of time, which will create perpetual high balances they can earn interest on.
