Per eBay message:
- One place to sell and get paid: manage all your selling and payments needs from within your eBay account.
- Simpler bills: all your fees in one place on your eBay bill.
- Consolidated pricing: all your fees in one place on one bill, plus special pricing for early opt-in*.
- Daily payouts: direct to your bank account. No need to transfer funds between accounts.
- New ways for buyers to pay: such as mobile payments with Apple Pay.
- Better protection: claim and chargeback seller protections provided by eBay, with one place to manage disputes.
- More control: accept your exclusive invitation now to get a head start on adapting your business to selling and getting paid on eBay.

I would like to have seen something about fees but I guess that will have to wait.
Overall, what I see so far looks good.

Maybe a deal? The seller will opt-in when eBay manages to find five days worth of missing pictures?

If that is the case then that will be a BIG difference from here to over there On betsy! Cause that's not how it works over there, and they use Our New Future Processor!

Yep... things like this is where the fear comes from. Just wait till it's five days worth of missing bank transfers. Things like that will probably happen near the end of a quarter, similar to the glitches and problems that always seem to coincidentally boost ebay's quarterly earnings.
BTW... ebay is expected to report their 2nd quarter earnings after the close of the markets tomorrow, July 18. Should be interesting.
Edited to correct date of July 18.

Are you sure you can not print shipping labels from your balance over there? I do not know what there settlement time frames are but I would assume buying shipping label would be possible at any time.

I can print shipping labels immediatly. the problem is if the item was not paid with pay-pal the money or payment for the item I need to ship is not in MY BANK ACCOUNT Immediatly. I just sold a beer tray over there on Friday and shipped Friday afternoon( by mistake) the funds did not go into my bank account till today. I have NEXT DAY DEPOSIT set up which is the QUICKEST, still the processing time and the timing of the original payment by the customer always differes. I will never start shipping items out untill money is ACTUALLY IN MY ACCOUNT! Not with the fraud around here.

Ebay is forgetting that if a buyer has a problem with purchasing even once they may not ever buy from here again.

We have one place now to manage disputes and there are enough examples of how well that has protected sellers that "Better protection" is more of a projection with the anticipation of participation than an explanation.
With direct access to our bank accounts, it sounds is if buyers won't be able to file a complaint with their credit card company as they do now when things don't go their way. That doesn't sound logical. If they can do it with PayPal, I can't see where they won't be able to do it with eBay.
I don't mind transferring funds as this is a way I can help my niece with some of her college expenses and it's not on my bank statement.
Since EBay is going to be the seller of record with the credit card company, what this means is that all chargebacks will be handled by Ebay like Paypal does now. That does not give me any good feelings as that means added costs for Ebay fighting those chargebacks or they can just take the easy way out like they currently do with buyers complaints and say the sellers always lose.
Based on history, Ebay is not going to incur the additional costs necessary to have an efficient chargeback department, not to mention their hiring record is not the cream of the crop anyway, so sellers will probably lose most chargebacks once this happens.

@myboardid wrote:Just a note of interest for all of you who think eBay dropped Paypal. It was actually the other way around. Paypal refused to continue their contract with eBay. They want to branch out to other ecommerce sites, and their contract with eBay prevented that.
Actually it was a bit more one sided on Ebays side as Ebay wanted to be the seller of record and make all the money that Paypal is making. That is what caused this in the first place, the need to show revenue growth. Paypals contract with ebay was not hurting them at all once they were a separate company from Ebay. Being part of Ebay was prohibiting them from expanding though.

Just how many roll outs and changes has eBay done that have worked correctly? How much more attention do I have to pay to my account to insure eBay is doing what they tell me they are doing? How many lies and misdirects will I be told when something’s not working correctly or my money is held up due to a glitch?
Daily reconcile reports should show you the
- incoming payments,
- fees associated with each transaction
- amount left over
- totals at the end for each column
- info about the transfer for each day that you can review just like you review monthly sales, or active listing actions, etc.

That is how it should work, but I cannot even get an accurate sales report each month from Ebay now, so how am I supposed to believe that they will supply this information when i will also bet that Ebay is going to take their fees (including FVF) out of the transaction. My biggest concern is that the reporting that i receive from Ebay is going to not be accurate enough and Ebay is going to flag items for shipment that have not been paid (as they still have problems with now) and not properly report items that are paid for,
I can see it now that Ebay is going to expect us to ship the items before we receive payment which is how many other sites do it and I have no problem with them as I know I will receive what i am supposed to with the detailed information I am supposed to get. But when Ebay cannot even get the views, watches and impressions to work correctly, what gives me any confidence in this working correctly. Especially when they put the same person in charge of this program that was formerly the Chief Technology Officer during all the glitches we have endured? Also my other sites do give me the option to have my money transferred to Paypal so Ebay should also have that option even if they are trying to get even with Carl Icahn for forcing he split which took away their gravy train and has forced them to have to work to survive ever since.

You should all know by now what ebay says and what actually is going on is not always the same. This is the same processor used on etsy. What this means for the seller is, they can no longer go down to the nearest atm and get their cash as soon as they are paid. They cannot use that cash to buy something else until they transfer it to themselves first over a matter of days.
The program timeline works like this: You get paid, next day you are able to transfer the money to your own bank acccont, and the day after than it will likely be available to you. So in this case the cheery message of not having to transfer funds is not exactly of any benefit to a seller.
I already use this program on the other site. I do not see any benefit to a seller.
One thing to keep in mind. Though it is the same processor as Etsy uses, and ebay will also be 'managing' the monies, does not mean that the process will be run the same way, or that procedures will be anywhere near similar, as it is on any other venue, system or site.
The phrasing of their 'Invitation', when one stops to seriously think about the various meanings that can be found in that text, may give many pause. It may even cause some people to have more questions that before with, perhaps, few answers forthcoming.

To have to worry about all those things in itself is too much trouble.

The thing is we dont like AMAZON or I would sell there not here.

Ebay has a tendency to move the goalpost every seller update so no thanks to letting them handle funds. You can say oh well change or adapt but a lot more people will just leave ebay and that will be how they change and adapt.

ebay becoming the merchant of record will be as close to putting a fox in charge of the hen house as one can get. Right now odds of winning any type of dispute on ebay are slim, but once they become the merchant of record that will drop to zero...
