This may be a tender area . I just got a question about an item listed ."Are the any markings on the Axe head?" I mention in the listing ,no markings other than the number 4 stamped on the axe. I have put all the photos of every angle of the Axe Head... What am I doing wrong?

@moxiedrinker You are doing nothing wrong - sometimes people are tire kicking, sometimes people just want to be extra double sure, some people just like to know who they are dealing with. I just answer the question and move on. I've had a few times people have asked for something already in the listing, I answer and they write back "Ooops - I just realised it was right there in front of me!" and apologise.
BTW, that's a really nice piece.

You're not doing anything wrong.... people are just too lazy to be bothered to read the description. All a seller can do, if they are doing their part, is to post pics of everything, and describe everything....beyond that, it's out of our hands, and as far as I'm concerned, no longer our problem if we did our part.
I get questions frequently enough "how tall" is the whatever.... I'm sorry, but if I've posted the dimensions of an item and I get a question about the dimensions.... I REFUSE to answer the question and appease the lazy would be buyer.... if you can read my response, you can read the description.
So, I always just reply to such questions with "the item dimensions are listed in the description. thank you". And leave it at that.

Likely you just got a buyer that didn't read the description. I am not certain, however, but have been told that viewing the entire description on some devices requires an additional click. I think my favorite of all time was "how tall is your 4" vase?"
I just figure that there are plenty of people out there who have the proverbial elevators that don't go all the way to top, or as they say, are not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
I think I responded cheerfully to that buyer, thanking them for taking the time to write and wrote it four inches tall.

@ittybitnot LOL at the vase. I've had enough brain pharts to have asked something almost that comical!

@chapeau-noir
Second favorite: "Do you think this (necklace) will look good on me? "
I don't even remember how I answered that one. If I got something like that today, I would likely say "Probably, not, you should keep looking." But they don't have a BBL on those sites. LOL..

Yep, that happens to all of us eventually. We can post a dozen photos and describe an item until it gets ridiculous and still get basic questions.
What my first thought is I won't write. If I did it might be snarky. "Do you know they sell monitors larger than 14"? Mine is 32" and I can see Russia on it from my back deck. Or... "A phone is not a monitor but a Surface Pro tablet computer is getting closer."
My standard reply IF the information is in the description might go like this. "Thanks for looking at our items. Per the description and the photos with the ruler showing the dimensions the belt buckle is about 3" x 4". If the information is not there I apologize and give the info after I update the description.

I forgot to include that I politely responded to the question. In normal print not caps. You are funny! As am I!

Or does it make look thin? Thanks for sharing! I just had to share this. Hope I am not bad

A lot of people on their phones don't know to scroll around. So they don't see the description.
Usually, when we get a question like this, we block them. Why sell to a buyer who won't read the description? That's asking for problems.

I just had to put this out there for some laughs, we can all use them these days! Thanks for the post!

Does it mean that they don't even look at the photos?

DD and I just walked DH through adding a slide show to a Zoom meeting.
He couldn't find most of the buttons or instructions on the screen to set it up.
It took over an hour.
Fingers crossed everything will work out for his international presentation tomorrow.
All of which is just to say that perfectly intelligent people can be utterly buffaloed by what they see (or don't ) on a screen.
I'm almost glad schools are dropping teaching cursive in favour of cyber literacy.

It's usually a measurement or some detail that they missed.

I never grokked cursive. I still half print after all of these years.
