You must select a return period which is supported - WHAT?

I, generally, have 14 day FREE returns for buyers except for International where it is 14 day and they pay for returns.  Suddenly, on my Hub, I'm getting this message in TASKS for several items:  You must select a return period which is supported

Why am I getting this?  Is it my International Returns?  Thanks for any insight, I'm just not seeing it.

eBay has eliminated the 14 day return option in most categories.

You probably need to choose another.

Meet buyers’ expectations
Many buyers expect a good returns experience that is consistent and competitive with a modern marketplace. When reviewing your returns policy options, be sure to choose the one that works best for you and your sales goals. You may choose to offer:

No returns accepted

30-day buyer-paid returns

30-day free returns

60-day buyer-paid returns

60-day free returns

14-day returns in limited categories

You can offer 14-day returns in the following categories:

Camera Drones
Camera Lenses
Collectibles & Art
Digital Cameras
Jewelry
Medical & Mobility

You must select at least 30 day return, ebay no longer accepts 14 days.

Re: You must select a return period which is supported - WHAT?

Thanks for the insight.  The ones that are coming up as "unacceptable for 14 days" are ALL JEWELRY items which your pasted policy says is o.k.  If I've got them in JEWELRY, I wonder why Ebay is saying unacceptable?

And, by the way, if I go into the listing to revise, do NOT make any changes and then update, that "task" disappears.  So, I'm thinking this is a glitch.

Contrary to popular belief eBay never eliminated 14 day returns.

They just reduced the number of categories that a seller can select

a 14 day return policy.

It looks like you are selling Jewelry and 14 day returns are 100% allowed,

otherwise the 14 day return policy wouldn't be available for you to select

on the listing form (its not available on the listing form if the category does

not qualify for it).

I have randomly been getting those warnings for the 14 day return policy not

supported for the last 3 years. I Just delete the warnings.

You are not doing anything wrong.

Re: You must select a return period which is supported - WHAT?

They gave us this change now in the sports card category as well , because buyers were crying they could no longer rent the items they bought for resale to try and make a buck as a reseller. Sports card sellers are now gonna take a hit again from ebay .

Thank you for asking the question.

Me too. Also in jewelry.

Reading all responses, agree a glitch.

I use 14 day returns on all jewelry. The to-do task is linked to only one of 50+ listings.

This is a "known issue" on the site. See eBay staff response to this thread, https://community.ebay.com/t5/Ask-a-Mentor/Collectibles-amp-Art-Change-to-Return-period/m-p/33071387 .

A seller has to honor their return policy whatever it is.

A seller would have to do the math because eBay let's all buyers open up a return for a

full 60 days regardless of the sellers return policy or the eBay money back guarantee.

If a buyer opens a NAD return and they are still covered by the eBay Money back

Guarantee they will have the option to ask eBay to step in if need be.

If a buyer opens a NAD return and they are not covered by the eBay Money back

Guarantee they will not have the option to ask eBay to step in if need be. A seller

won't know this and if they accept any return that the buyer in no longer covered

by the eBay Money back Guarantee then the return is accepted and that is it.

Here is a screen shot from one of your competitors selling sports cards

who does not accept returns.
