Did you mean:

You can apparently be competing against yourself with suggested promoted listing percentage.

So, I have a bunch of different Ganz brand personalized Christmas Ornaments. They were all sitting at promoted listing 10 percent, and all of them had suggested percentage of 10.1 percent.

Today I sourced a whole bunch more, realized they were not selling through fast enough (I spent $1000 on them today and only sold $600 worth last 30 days), so I wanted to slash the prices on them so they would move better. At the same time I opted to drop the promoted listings on all my existing ones to 5 percent.

Low and behold, when I go to list the new ones I got today the new ones didn't want 10.1 percent promoted anymore, most of them now wanted 7. Apparently my 10 percent promotions on personalized ornaments was raising the bar in all personalized ornaments and the system wanted me to beat my own number to promote one of my items over a different one, if that makes any sense.

Many big sellers  have reported that the  "suggested ad rates" are ebaybot abstract numbers, have no rime or reason and not supposed to be taken into serious consideration. Anyways, we are paying the venue eniugh fees as it is.
