Wrong address

I shipped a item and the buyer contacted me in Spanish (I had to use a translator) that the item didn’t arrive. I checked with usps and it says no address found returned to sender, they have 0 feedback I’m not sure what to do?

  1. Has the buyer opened an INR with eBay?
  2. When you say "I checked with USPS," do you mean you looked at tracking?
  3. Did tracking show the item on its way back to you?
  4. Have you double-checked that your mailing label had the same address the buyer used at checkout?
  5. Was the item shipped to a freight forwarder?

You could contact the buyer and inform him/her of what you've discovered and ask about the issue with the address, and go from there.

Otherwise, don't do anything "official" until the buyer opens an INR.

yes I looked at the tracking but there is no return tracking it said it was returned on the 4 th the same day it it was trying to be delivered.

I used the address provided by eBay and used eBays label.

Looks good. The advice I posted in Message #2 would apply. I would definitely communicate this information to the buyer. Use Google Translate, or your favorite translation app, to communicate, and let him/her know you're using a translation app.

If you shipped to the address the buyer used at checkout, you have fulfilled your obligations in this transaction as far as eBay is concerned. You'll not be required to refund the buyer, but, IMO, that's the ethical thing to do.

You have some options: You could refund his/her money. You could offer to resend it when you get it back, if the buyer wants to pay for shipping. You could list it again, let the buyer know to correct his/her address, and s/he can buy it again. I'm sure there are other options I'm overlooking . . .

You'll be notified if/when the buyer files a case with eBay (or PayPal or his/her credit card company).

Thank you for the info. I just hope I get the product back it’s been 10 days.

Be aware that USPS shipping is still very slow. As a former USPS dock worker, I know that "Missent" or "Return To Sender" mail can sit on the docks at processing centers for days or up to a week before it is reprocessed.

Well they asked for a refund so I had no other choice but to refund and Lost $4.00 in shipping. I had no other choice I there was nowhere where I could deduct the shipping for the refund.
