This is a on going complaint of mine, what some sellers will ship in a padded envelope. In this case a electronic device, specifically, a Motorola hand-held/portable 2-way radio. Would you ship this in a padded envelope?

Yes he is & he will be 33 next month on the 27th. He became a Dad last October & we are doing our best to spoil our newest grandson.

If you mail it in an envelope I would definitely put a light sheet of cardboard on each side. I have rec'd bubble mailers and many times the post person would try squeezing it into the mail slot on our front door. The last thing you want is for the display or case to get scratched and then get a Neutral or Negative for it being damaged. The metal slots for the mail can be sharp!

I would ship that in a padded flat rate envelope but only if it was able to fit in a box first. I ship glass in padded flate rate envelopes all the time. never had a issue.

It would not bother me to receive it in a padded envelope, but I'd likely ship it in a box. I got five glass bottles of CBD oil, glass clinking against glass, in a little lightly padded envelope last month. Not sure how it arrived intact Texas to Los Angeles, but it did.

I've received glass bottles of essential oils and fragrances in padded envelops with no issues - all had extra foam or bubble wrap. I see no problem with shipping items in padded envelops with extra protection.

When I first started selling them I did box the first few. Had a lady from Dallas, TX scold me for shipping them in a box. Their rationale - boxes were more apt to be stolen off their porch than an envelope. Go figure. It takes all kinds to make the world go around.
Very good point, @johnrj1226 . I wouldn’t hesitate to ship designer jeans in a FRP mailer. But for clothing items in the $250-$1000 range, i use a box.

When you used the term "designer duds" there are several definitions/meaning for a slang term (i.e. duds) depending on where one lives.
Personally I wouldn't put "dud (s)" in the $250 to $1k range.
