FVF is a cost of goods sold.
How may items have you passed on buying for re-sale because the potential profit margin was too thin because of the FVF?
What sliding scale would attract you?

The cost of packing supplies is another area of concern especially since I lost my main supply of free boxes. I have to keep a big variety of envelopes and boxes in stock because the size of my shipments vary wildly, and aside from the occasional Priority flat rate envelope, I do not have free supplies except the quarterly supplies from ebay.
the high part of my cost is shipping.
not even shipping supplies (that is much less than the FVF).
i have decided long ago to do away with heavy items unless it sells for lots of $.
i buy most of my shipping supplies on ebay.
there you can get bbl mailers for 10 cents a pop, 6xx4 boxes for 20+ cents, adhesive labels for a few pennies each...
at the end my purchases are based on what it sells for on ebay.
these days most of what i sold years ago doesn't even bring $10 (if it sells at all).
if it is something i can ship FC mail, then no problem, i buy it (and only if the cost is a few $).
if not i leave the item behind...

In response to OP:
Sure, 100% more.
100% of zero items = ?
Honestly, I hoped for the site to stabilize somewhat after I pulled all my listings months ago. What a blustercluck this site has become.
Nothing short of a complete turnaround to friendlier selling options here would compel me to list on eBay again.

I've been waiting for the site to 'stabilize' since I pulled all my listings in 2010. Conclusion: it's never gonna happen.

I also left in 2010 or maybe it was 2008...but then I tried again here starting in 2015. Had a good year and they decided to start implementing these half-baked changes into full-on "nobody noticed our sneaky piecemeal failed tests we promised 5 years ago, so let's just go with 'em."
Glitchbay ain't what it used to be, and more!
More?
How's it possible they became more incompetent? ...seriously.
It's embarrassing.
That thread about 7 things that ruined a seller's flow....there's way more than a dozen items on that list (with plenty more to come), and not a bit of corrective response from our overlords.
