Would you block this person if you got this message?

"Could I'm not sure if it's the color I used to have that I loved and I know I'd have to pay for return shipping. Could you sell this for $36? Thank you."

This is for a lipstick that is $39.99 and discontinued.   Doesn't it sound like they plan on maybe using it and returning it? I have free returns so they wouldn't have to pay the return shipping.

 Of course I'm not going to take their offer but I'm even considering blocking them at this point. Would you?

I'd block that one so fast she'd feel it 1000 miles away.

I can already see that one coming back open and used. Out shipping (both ways). Out your $39.99.

But get some more seller's advice before you go with mine. There may be better reasons to leave the option open.

     Hard to say what their motives are other than trying to get a few $'s off. While I didn't look at all you items most appear to be BIN with no OBO. This sounds like an unsolicited offer. I get those on occasion and just ignore them I don't block the person unless they become a continual problem.

Yeah I don't have best offer on my items but it's definitely not their offer that has me worried. They're basically saying they're not sure if it's the shade they are looking for and they are preparing me for their return if it's not the shade they remember from their past.

Personally...I don't think you were being paranoid at all.

Yes. I would block. Any sign that they will be difficult and I am not going to do business with them. Lessons learned.

I've been told that I'm too quick to block but there are plenty of buyers out there. 

This is one I'd block in a heartbeat.

Best case scenario. She likes it and you make $4 less than you wanted. Still pretty good though.

Worse case scenario. A woman that's already showing hints at being reluctant thinks the shade isn't what she hoped it would be able returns it. Out the whole thing plus return shipping.

Being top rated, you may be able to recoup half the sale price because it isn't in the same condition you sent it and possibly return shipping too. So not a total loss. But you risk her leaving bad feedback.

Other possibility is they like it but are going you won't have them return it knowing you can't resell it.

Probably best to just block unless you like gambling and/or wouldn't be out too much money if they did return it.

Yes.

Used makeup is unsaleable, and she has indicated that she is unsure about her choice.

Couple that with an offer, rather than a purchase... nope.

What is her feedback like?

This person spells like trouble.  I will just say, thanks for the offer, but at this time I am not taking any offers.  I have been there done that.  And I have learned when some one is 50% sure that they want some thing, they will end up returning the item.
