Hello: Would like to ask for a procedure to run two different promoted listings Sales of different percentages off.
First some reference background. We have many items in our store that have two store categories selected. We usually select the first category of the most logical match and the selected second category we may change to our CLEARANCE store category, which is where we deep discount our oldest inventory.
We run a promoted listing sale of 25% off on our complete store by selecting each of our store categories that are shown during the select inventory process and select all store categories EXCEPT "Clearance". Then we submit and the 25% off Sale starts.
Next we wish to create a 70% Off Sale for only the "CLEARANCE" store category. So we do that, but what we find is that some of the CLEARANCE items are at the 25% Off Sale amount and the balance are at the 70% Off.
So, questions are...
#1- Does it matter what order we create the Sales? The 25% or the 70%?
#2- If we start the 25% off first does that supercede the upcoming 70% off and the 70% won't take or does it not matter or does the last Sale created supercede and over writes the first Sale?
#3-Is the fact that we have two store categories selected be the problem. And if we want to have all of the CLEARANCE ITEMS show only the 70% amount, should we then need to delete the first store category and only have the CLEARANCE items only show as being located in the CLEARANCE Category [folder]?
Think this may be the answer, but would be helpful if some of the community here chime in and let us know if there are other ways or the best way to have an item be listed in two store categories BUT have only the Clearance one show the highly discounted percentage off.
Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions on a good or proper process to get old items into the CLEARANCE section with the deep discount and not have to go through all of them and clear the standard store category like, vases, candle holders, wall art and leave only the remaining single category as clearance.
