Has anyone else ever had this happen?
I had an item listed and an overseas buyer was interested in purchasing it. We messaged back and forth over a couple of days while I tried to get shipping rates nailed down for her. I also lowered the price for her and sent her a message that it was all set for her. Before she could complete the transaction, another buyer purchased the item. How do I handle this situation?

I see a few comments about raising the price to discourage other buyer but I really don’t understand the point. Been selling stuff online and in retail jobs for many years. The only thing that really matters is when a customer pulls the trigger and buys the item. Way too many false commitments out there and no one wants to lose a sale because someone wants to “ think about it” and have you “ hold it” while they decide.

Yeah, like ac green I don't reserve stuff for any buyer except in special circumstances with a repeat customer. But the OP appeared to want to reserve the item during the negotiation process which is why my advice was catered in that direction.

You had a buyer haggling on cost.
You don't have Calculated Shipping set up for their country.
You don't have eIS which would automatically give them shipping for their country.
While they were haggling, another buyer paid full price.
You won.
What's the problem?
