THIS is the point where you should have just ignored this "buyer" instead of dragging it out.

We counter with our same firm price.

Buyer cancels.

THAT is precisely the sort of behavior that I preclude by blocking immediately those who make low-ball offers in the first place.

You're lucky they cancelled.  They could have received the item, claimed an INAD, and sent you a box of pebbles in return, kept the item, and left you bad feedback -- all for having the temerity to demand a price that you set so you could make a living.

?? Not sure what your response means or where you pulled the screen shot. If I had OBO on one of my listings it was totally in error.

I agree. People who make extremely low offers has historically been the worst customers on here for us and when you give in to them they further try to get the price down by claiming INAD or other nonsense.

The strongest negotiating tool is the ability the walk away. If a buyer starts treating you this way, don’t be afraid to decline the offer and say I’m sorry I don’t think this will work out. Often times they will come back to the table with a higher offer.

Yep, walking away has made me big bucks from other customers who buy without the hassle of haggling. 10 out of 10 times that item sells for what we list it for.

Exactly and knowing when and how to walk them is the key. Especially when you have an in-demand item that you have just listed.

Re: Wonderful World of eBay Sales

I give them one.  I always counter a lowball with a reasonable drop of 10-20%.  Another lowball gets declined.  A third lowball gets them blocked.

My guess is they wont do anything about the hordes of fake accounts and non-paying buyers...

Just more undeserved buyer activity and sales revenue for the site to report on a quarterly basis right? And I'm pretty sure they need every click and dime they can report...
