Why would my shopping cart show a 1 next to it with nothing in it?

I had to buy some first aid stuff and paid for the item using a credit card. The item has been shipped but my cart shows an orange 1 with nothing in it now for the last 3 days. Anyone know how to clear this?

I've never been able to do it.  Just let it sit there; it'll disappear eventually.

I've also had that happen before, maybe it's a common bug.  It went away after a few days.  I can't say I did anything to make it go.  Maybe try signing out and clearing your cache.

It's just sloppy website programming. It does no harm and should clear itself in a few days. I had the same thing in my buying account last week.

Ebay has serious software problems to work on.  Hang around, you'll see them discussed.

Something which is obviously wrong, but the effects are purely cosmetic, don't much get worked on.  Like a guy with a big ketchup stain on his shirt, but who also has a court date, which is the one that is going to get attention?

This same thing has happened to me twice recently.  I found that if I pulled up eBay on my smart phone, it was easy to remove the item from the cart.  Best.
