I'm usually pretty good about checking out my competition and pricing my items competitively but i haven't checked on this item in a while until just now because i just sold one.
Quikilver Lunch Land Land lunch bag
Competitor A: $17.00 with free shipping
Competitor B: $16.00 + $5.95 shipping
My item: $22.00 + $8.01 shipping
I'm grateful, but why would anyone buy this from me?

Because you are the "best seller on eBay" 🙂
Other reasons, but don't want to be a jinx :0

One of our buyers just offered us a discount on an item they just purchased from us that they sell in their own store for half of the price after copying our description word for word FOR their own product( It even has our store's name in their description). It's been a weird day.

Because you are awesome 😁

There could be a couple of reasons: your feedback rating, your location, turn around time, etc. Where are competitor A and B located, what does their feedback look like. If you are going to compare look at more than just the price.
I for one can tell you that if either/or competitor A or B was in a foreign country, especially China, there is no way I would even consider purchasing from them.

Weird day indeed. Today my mail carrier came and told me he stepped on a big pile of dog turd right outside my building. I went out to look at it and there appears to be a bunch dog turds of different sizes all along the building wall. Where the heck are all these dogs coming from?

Cheaper shipping by location, one looks better in pics, something gross in pics like the item is wet and you don't understand why, they got money and a few dollars don't matter so they order the first one that shows up, they're in a hurry and order the first that appears, they never saw the others because the algorithm just does that all the time (probably this) ,better shipping speed or better customer service... if its not showing up it could just be $0.50 and no one would buy it.

They heard that your buyers are dumping on you, and just wanted to get in on the action:)

Could be that the buyer is a stickler for perfection. You have 100% and your competitor only has 99.9%
When I did a search for the item (used Quiksilver Lunch Land Land bag in the search field) yours and the $17 came up. But the $16 one didn't. It might be that your buyer only was presented with your listing, and no other. You know how fickle search can be.

We also know that as soon as the buyer paid eBay search might graciously display all other sources(often cheaper) just in case the buyer wanted another.

Maybe you should refund the buyer since you "overcharged"... Didn't I read that recently somewhere?

I also heard take the money and run! 😁

Totally off topic, but bigdeals mentioned weird things happening today. How's this for weird.
My 23 year old Nephew just visited me at work today. A little unusual but that's not the weird part.
I'm sure you guys all heard about the gamestop stock thing. Well apparently he was involved. He handed me, his beloved Uncle, a envelope FULL of $100 bills as a gift. Of course i tried to turn it down (not very hard LOL) but he insisted i take it. I'm still in shock. This is a lot more money than i'm used to seeing/handling. I'm afraid to count it. My Nephew said the money he made was "life changing" but would not give me a number. I told him this envelope is "life changing" to me.
