Why sellers block 'buyers'

Last week got a message on id four and the guy said he tried to bid on a somewhat obscure 45 record company sleeves [important info] and was blocked. Check BBL and he's on it. Then something about the company name rang a bell.

Checked our id that sells mostly records and the 45 that came in that sleeve had been 'bought' three weeks ago and never paid for - and of course it's his id. So I search the record under completed and there is ours and three more, all auctions sold with one bid - ours 'sold' for the most.

Checked bid history on all and of course it's his feedback amount.

Contact the the two 'middle' sellers and asked - really told them - that they sold it to xx and he never paid, right? [correct from both] 2nd message - Walked them thru the steps to see what I saw. Said I hope they 'didn't pay' him along with reporting him. [both did npb but no report] 3rd - Told them to report and include the search/bid pattern, and having contact with other sellers [listed the ids] this person didn't pay so know it's same item, same bidder, same pattern.

Contacted the lowest price guy and told him the story and how even though he got paid for this, the next time he could be the 'not lowest' guy and thus never paid, so should block.  He said he would.

Got back to blocked guy - "Dude, if you had just paid for the xxx record you waddled away from you would have been able to bid on the sleeve it originally came in but .... so blocked and reported by us and the other two guys you blew off"

Got back - "You good"

Been checking his FB pages - this morning it had that lovely 'NARU' on it.

We win.

Why sellers block 'buyers'

Nice one of the first times I have seen a posting on this forum where a seller(s) actions actually resulted in eBay taking action against the buyer.

OP

We know that if the 'buyer bid on list' was still there we would have found that he have a 'few' other 'same item bid on' grouping with the same results.

op again

'buyer just start another account'

Many post here about ebay banishing the friends of the banned because they sign in on banned computer/ISP , so ebay can tell if banned computer/ISP is being used to open new account and maybe that route has been blocked? As nobody comes to the boards to complain that they can't open new account after getting kicked off who knows?

OP here

Since first posting this, have used the same steps to WIN two IND cases on two different IDs from different buyers. Both claimed our copy was beat to hell or warped. Again both had bid/won more then one, and hadn't paid the others. Long story short,  ebay refunded both from their money ... which they got from us.

So the thieves got to keep the $178 worth of records for free, but we got paid. And as of now both still active.

... until he creates a new eBay account and is no longer blocked from buying from any of you.
