I find it really frustrating that when I get a message from a buyer there is absolutely no way to see or get to their order, I'm quite sure the old messages system included a link to the buyer's order.
This means every time I get a message from a buyer I need to copy their username, open a new tab, go back to eBay, My eBay, Selling, Sold, then do a search for the username.
Am I just missing it or do you really need to go through all these steps to find an order from a buyer that messaged you?

This is a note I just received (edited for privacy's sake)

How often do you get messages from your buyers? I almost never do.

I think it also has to do with HOW they message you.
If the message is connected to the purchase, it should show the "view order details" blue button that @richard1rst shows above.
If they message you from your feedback page or store it wont.

Was just wondering what buyers are messaging the OP about.
Should we ask?

richard1rst: That is the old eBay messaging system, I've moved to the new "chat like" messaging system and it no longer has those buttons.
I just saw I have the option to go back to the old messaging system and the view order buttons are back! I'll stay with the old version then for as long as I can.
Since some were asking, someone was asking me if I shipped the replacement as one of the several items in their order was damaged in transit which is an extremely rare occurrence.

I still see the link to the item in the new and old messaging versions. Sometimes I have people message us outside of an order, or the rare scammer trying to catch us off guard, and then the item won't be linked, but maybe you just hit a glitch?

Your buyer may have simply sent you a message by clicking contact seller from your profile page not from their order.
