In the past 3 weeks my sales and views have gone to zero. I am using the standard and above standard promotion rate. Any way to find out why and how to correct it? Is this normal?

So if I were not a collector or a museum, you wouldn't want me to buy the piano?
Also, as others have mentioned, your 5 current listings are in a very, very narrow niche.
Have you tried CL for the piano?

Yes, I believe we understand that from the information the seller has posted.

My first question when acquiring inventory of antique and collectible items is "is the item of merit".
My next question is "does anyone care". In your case it should be "does anyone in my local area care" since you are offering it for local pickup.

Yes - because there were only a handful of these special pianos to start with.

Thanks - you are not seeing the complete history.

That's correct. It's not. Thank you!

Yes I agree - I am looking at other options for this. I do like using ebay to use a world-wide attention getting to stir things up. Thank you!

So, you only have a few items for sale? Why are you using promotions? I do not and have had good sales. You have so few items for sale and they are very specific, so you can expect slow downs. I would encourage you to NOT pay for promoted listings and get more items to sell.

Possibly it could "stir things up", but, since it is local pickup only, what good does it do you to have "world-wide attention" when it's doubtful that anyone beyond a reasonable distance would be able to buy and pick it up?

There actually is some merit in this - it's not that hard to have local arrangements made for an item like this for someone with a specific interest who lives outside of the drop-off range. A local buyer, for instance, can have something freighted to an interested party elsewhere. I recall arranging a few sales for people in England acting as an intermediary. And it costs nothing to advertise.

It is not for local pickup only. I state delivery in the posting itself as an option and for what price. I have now added delivery options as well. Thanks!

Absolutely correct. This is the point.

Want? Look, its for sale to anyone. I'm using ebay as a way of getting its availability out there to the masses- targeting the most likely buyers of this unique item. I simply don't care who buys it.

I have tried CL in the past and I find it increasingly ineffective unless I have a geographically specific item I am targeting regionally. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for that feedback in the real world. I was promoting because I had other users with deep experience (in this forum) advise me the opposite - claiming my listings will not even be found w/o promoting, and this is how ebay makes money. I will heed your advice.
