Why my feedback numbers keep going down since I received one negative this year.

Have had 100% feedback for years. Received only  1 negative recently. My feedback went from 100% to 98. Since then my feedback keeps going down every few days.  Is there a new feedback policy I don't know about?

Thank you.

Its a percentage based over a years time.  If over the last 12 months you had 50 feedback with 49 pos and 1 negative, that would be 98%.  But everyday you have feedback "age out" of that 12 month period, so that 50 becomes 46 with 1 neg, and your percentage drops.  If you are trying to raise that percentage you need to get some feedback in to water down that neg.

your feedback received will go up and down over 12 months as it drops off

if you got 10 feedback 364 days  ago then in 2 days it will drop off and you will have 10 less feedback to tabulate your feedback score, its all based on feedback for the last 365 days

It's a percentage based on the feedback you have received in the past 12 months.  So if the number of old feedback that's rolling off is greater than the number of new feedback being added, then the total feedback number is lower and the effect of one neg will be greater.

Also, the number used in figuring the percentage isn't ALL the feedback received because if you have multiple transactions with one member during one week (which eBay defines as Monday through Sunday) then they only count one. So  your feedback page shows that you have received 57 positive in the past year, but the number used in figuring your percentage is only 43, due to multiple feedback from the same member.

To improve your percentage, make some purchases from sellers who always leave feedback, or somehow persuade your buyer who left the neg that they should change their feedback.

@abawinful

May I ask why you canceled that coach bag sale, did ebay pull it? Perhaps you could get it removed, if not you can leave a followup to that negative being very professional about it. That 1 negative wouldn't stop me from buying from you if I heard your side of the story.

     Best to you this holiday season.

Thought if it was a removed transaction, no way to ever leave FB?

@abawinful

Did you try to get the red donut FB removed?

You might contact e-Bay in social media and inquire?

With every day that passes, your feedback 12-month evaluation period shifts by one day.

If the new day that is added to evaluation period (today) has less feedback than the day that dropped off (366 days ago), your feedback percentage will go down.

If it has more feedback than the day that dropped off (366 days ago), your feedback percentage will go up.
