Why is the Front Porch gone? I need to scream.

I wish eBay understood that a PADI Divers Log book is not a novel, doesn't have an option of being signed or an other of the thirty stupid item specifics.  I cannot add more to my listing becase I do not have an ISBN and if I had one, I cannot go through such freaking stupidity again this week.

I don't need an answer.  I'm just angry.

Not that it helps but "my" front porch was heaped yesterday with 31 packages of USPS boxes....

(It's what happens when USPS ignores your box requests for weeks and weeks and you keep ordering them)  lol

I was going to suggest you just leave out the word "book" and list it as PADI Drivers Log.  But the, if you do that you may have to do Item Specifics for "log."  You know, type of wood, diameter, grain, absence or presence of mineral streaks...

Sigh.

Haven't you ever just made up information?  I would use one digit off of from a very old book for the ISBN and forget about it.

Many times I have put "Unsure" or N/A for item specifics when I get to the point it is ridiculous.

For color I might put "obscure" just for laughs because the photos show the color.

As a clothing seller I understand.  If one takes eBay's item specifics seriously, you'd be trying to sell shirts made from alginate which are 'asymetric' and size 23 with a clown theme.

What about Action Figures, where you are asked what "Faction" your "Transformer" belongs. 

Does E-Bay not realize most action figures are not Transformers?  If you need a special Transformers filed, then hide it unless you are in a special Transformers category.

Why not a special field to specify if I have a GI Joe or Cobra "faction"?  Why just Transformers?

Toys have more stupid item specifics than any category I think.  And E-Bay doesn't hide any of them, so you scroll through a couple of pages of them.  How about the show required's, and minimize the rest with a pull down arrow for those interested.

The person who has designed all these specifics doesn't have a functional, rational mind.  Their brain is not firing on all cylinders.  So probably the same person in charge of the overall Seller Hub redesign.

I am a professional data analyst, and ANYONE who does what I do could reduce the complexity of E-Bay's Seller Hub and listing process by at least 50%.  I don't understand how they could have possibly hired/selected this team for the task.  Who are these people?

I want to add, since this is still going, that I listed a crystal vase and the question was about wood grain.  These item specifics are completely out of hand.  How is it helpful to anyone to ask me if something made in the 1990 is an antique?

He is eBay's item specifics guru, and is or at least was spear heading eBay's structured data team. The last time that I checked when it comes to item specifics at eBay the buck pretty much stops with him. Maybe is is willing to come here and answer a few questions and explain a few detail.

When you list something in dolls/bears, it now asks what nationality.  I was listing Monster High Dolls.  Mine now all say Vampire, Frankenstein, Werewolf, Mummy, etc.

And under Action Figures - it asks me "what occasion".   I have been tempted to put in Seance or Exorcism.

Certain toy categories include a specific for gender and age range.

Often mine will say "all 64" and 8-80000 in those boxes.
