I currently have a "lighthouse flag" up for auction. It has been up for over six days, and it has one bid on it. Yet when I type "lighthouse flag" in the search bar, it does not show up in search results. Why is that?

List 2nd category- under 'flags' as all the other's that show up in search as shown as such.
Yours is listed under 'maritime';
Also 'flag' is the last word in title- push it up in the title if you think people will be looking for 'flag' before WWII stuff

Yours is #3 when searching the category you put it in. It looks like on best match it only shows up for those searching in the antiques maritime category. Maybe switch category if you want it to show up with the other lighthouse flags. Another thing you may try is put lighthouse flag in the title first and then the WWII part. It looks like Ebay put it into categories that fit best for those searching so only those interested n the WWI and/or maritime categories would be interested in your flag. You could also use two different categories but I believe it will cost you an additinal listing fee ?

eBay often doesn't show all of the search results. They select a specific subcategory and only show those results. In order to see all of the results, you have to click on "All" in the categories list on the left side of the page. This is called "implicit category navigation." The only way for a seller to deal with it is to use the category that eBay has selected for your item.
In your case, you have listed your item under a sensible subcategory in "Antiques," but the category that eBay chooses to show when a member searches on "lighthouse flag" is the Flags subcategory under the Home & Garden main category. Your listing does show up if a member clicks on "All."
