Sure they have made billions great but their numbers are declining bcoz of the way they treat sellers. I've Been a top-rated seller all year. I paid $60k in fees to ebay, 5k per month the past 12 months while they do nothing but slap me with a zillion new rules and discipline anything they can do to squeeze more money out of us. Without the sellers they have nothing.. period. No merch, no buyers no money.. so in what friggin universe do these jerks think that sellers work for them? My merch, I do all the work and they treat us like we have to pay them to be treated like we work for them when there is a lot of other competition out there now and platforms like Amazon that don't treat sellers like slaves. Ebay recently issued a statement that any sellers who were affected by the winter storms resulting in late shipments and defects would not have to worry and that the defects would be removed. I've sent in disputes due to the winter storms. I don't sell 1 or 2 a day I sell 30 or more so when the post office was closed during the ice storms here and the roads were closed i couldn't ship anything. I called in spoke to a supervisor bcoz my shipping on time rating has dropped to 94% which drops my top rated status to above average seller status. Well ebay has not responded to my requests to have defects removed bcoz of that storm and during Christmas when usps was backed up as well as I had missed a few days from being sick. They want to threaten my account over crap that was beyond my control demanding medical bills to prove i was sick. **bleep** THATS AGAINST THE LAW HIPAA complaint here I come !!! I have almost 6000 items listed and all sales have stopped. I'm so sick of this platform making money by basically charging a **bleep** mortgage payment on a mansion just to put up with their crappy customer service, ripping off sellers by allowing buyers to scam us and swap old broken used product with our new products, always siding with buyers and never listening to anything we have to say. You can say goodbye to my 60k a year it may not seem like much but if you treat us all the same and you **bleep** off 100 of us that 600k a year in revenue lost.. keep sending your sellers to Amazon I'm sure Jeff Bezos appreciates it. 👍🏽

That is a bit unfair @inhawaii . Historically when Ebay announces protection due to a weather related issue, they take care of things. The OP was not in an area that Ebay announced protection for unless it was further back in 2022.

Stop caring so much. You have good feedback and good sales. No one cares or checks to see if you are a top rated seller before they click to buy now or bid.

I'm not sure what part of what I said was unfair.
If ebay let's some sellers slide (gives them a grace period) due to a particular natural disaster, then great!
I'm just saying there are so many other "good reasons" for shipments to be late.
Sellers shouldn't expect ebay to let them slide on all of them.

I think the word you're looking for is actually, "because."

"Have you sold much stuff on Amazon? I've sold there for years. Amazon is no walk in the park as a seller. I can share all kinds of horror stories about them too."
Boy is that an extremely true comment!!! I stopped on Amazon several years ago. Paying warehouse/seller fees beyond 40% plus the anti-3rd party seller phase out and the China seller that can do no wrong mentality was it for me. Lastly, HORROR is the main theme there.

You forgot name calling, im not sure they were asking for help, I think they got it under control, they just wanted to vent about how unfair the partnership has become.

When you are sick or the weather is bad that is where "Time away" comes in. Close down and open back up when conditions are restored.

I'm sooo glad I stopped selling here a long time ago. I just buy. I remember when ebay was a great place to sell, but not now!

I remember a few years back we had a very bad storm come through but it was mainly local that the most damage was done. It ripped the roof off the main USPS sorting & distribution center for the area so yeah, I copped some shipping dings and dents, as did other sellers in the region. As you can imagine not only did every mail out after that have to be re-routed for a while, adding to late acceptance scans and longer delivery times, but whatever mail was already in the sorting center got a little wet and smushed.
Because it was local ebay didn't cover us, but I managed to talk to someone and send them a link to news coverage of the event and as it was verifiable they removed any issues I had with my account due to the storm.

Except this thread has been specific that one of the points is about Ebay offering protection for sellers in certain areas when a bad weather event happens. No one had talked about any other kind of reason.

Their sales are also declining because they refuse to fix the search function.

Yes I did. It was in my opening statement on that post. I see they are venting but some of the stuff they are venting about is not an issue with Ebay nor was it anything Ebay offered to them.

Acceptance scans should not be happening at the USPS hub level. The carrier that picks up your package is suppose to do the acceptance scan for USPS.
We do not get a defect for a late acceptance scan unless the delivery scan is also late. If the delivery scan happens within the ETA for the package on the purchase, there is no defect applied to the seller.
