Why is ebay ripping me off???

Why is ebay ripping me off? They blocked my account based on a metric that makes no sense. My feedback is 100%. My rating is 4.9 out of 5. All my sales have been delivered. I have the highest praise from my buyers. Why are my account and sales blocked? Why is my money being kidnapped? The only answer I can think of is that I'm being discriminated against for being South American. I don't think ebay would have the guts to do that to a US or European citizen.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

This was one of the messages I got from ebay. But my friend. I don't have any undelivered items. All my orders have been received by buyers.

Starting from July 24, 2023, eBay will launch the Shipping Performance Policy - Item Not Received Rate.
Sellers with a higher than market average "Item not received" rate may be subject to a range of actions, such as eBay ending or removing your listings, enforcing buying or selling restrictions, adjusting your selling limits and/or suspending all relevant accounts.
The evaluation result will be sent to your registered email on bi-weekly basis: *****@uol.com.br from the following email address: *****@*****.ebay.com.
Please visit the policy page (https://export.ebay.com/en/fees-and-payments/regulations/shipping-performance-policy-item-not-receiv...) for more information.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

With "Service Metrics", if a buyer opens a INR case, even if it is satisfactorily resolved, it still counts against a sellers metrics. Counts against my metrics and yours the same. Ebay does not remove hits against seller metrics for any reason.

EBay looks at it this way: if a buyer had to open a INR case, it was a bad buying experience.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

The buyer knows I was suspended because I told him. He sent me a message asking when I would do new auctions and I told him I couldn't do new auctions because ebay had suspended my account.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

That was another message I got from ebay. But the situation is the same, ALL MY ORDERS HAVE BEEN DELIVERED.

Upon evaluation of your recent transactions, we noticed that the INR% (item not received rate) of your eBay account is "extremely bad" level. Pursuant to our eBay user agreement and eBay policies, we regret to inform you that your eBay account will be restricted. This restriction means that:
(a) Your selling privileges are restricted. Consequently, you will not be able to create new listings or revise any listings that are live on eBay sites; and
(b) Your payouts have been placed on hold.
The safety of our community is a top priority for us. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

That’s incorrect. If you resolve an INR case it doesn’t count against your seller metrics. I had a buyer open an INR last month. The buyer “found” her item case closed in my favor. No defect against my account.
Cases that close without a seller resolution when eBay steps in count against a seller.

It is not a defect against your account, true, as in seller defects.

Seller metrics are different.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

Yeah, that's crazy, I had a buyer open an INR and the item was then received/marked delivered within the 3 day window for the case. Buyer only opened it to "communicate" with me. I was sooooooo mad, just freaking message me! He was extremely nice, and had absolute ignorance about what he had done by opening a case, so I didn't go there or say anything. But come on, now I have an INR on my metrics, I mean, sure, it won't do anything unless I get a couple more, but I shouldn't have one to begin with.

I'm sure EBay already notified you why your account got suspended. With the information you're presenting, we can just guess what's going on. It has nothing to do with the geographical location. What about getting artificial bump up on your statistics? The past month you have over 20 positive feedbacks from the same Buyer. It's good for you to sell so much, but it's very unusual so much feedback to be left. Out of 20 sales I get about 1-2 feedbacks.

The guy who bids on my auctions leaves me around 80 feedback every week (often in groups where he leaves them for a few weeks at a time).

Not so unusual as you might think.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

True, they don't remove those from "seller metrics". They don't even remove abandoned INAD return cases.

The only saving grace at times is if you don't have any peer metrics to compare with in a particular category.  Meaning, not enough total transactions in a particular category.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

Actually, after I read up on it, since I do enough transactions (400 or something) it'll only count for the 3 month period and not 12, and it will not affect me as long as I stay under 1% of my total transactions??? The rating may go up but apparently they adjust your rating back down or don't penalize you as long as it's under 1% of total transactions for the category or something. That's cool 👍 as long as it doesnt effect my TRS

Your feedback looks very suspicious.  The same buyers over and over again, leaving the same feedback...   I don't buy it... and I don't buy this feedback left by someone twice "Yes it takes time to deliver because of standard delivery from Brazil. But the orders always arrive to me Carefully packaged and exactly as described. These figures arrived in Immaculate condition, with the excess casting flash trimmed. I love them. Ebay has committed an Injustice against this seller, And I really wish I could continue to purchase from him. Jorge is a well-spoken and very friendly guy, And I feel that E-bay has Killed a rare and valuable asset for the STSTCS Community."

What the heck.... how do they know that you got suspended?  Something is definitely wonky.   Look up feedback manipulation...

In fact anyone who thinks about doing this.... look at the guidelines... https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/feedback-policies/feedback-manipulation-policy?id=4231&st=3&pos=1...

I saw that and figured the same thing --- at first.

But it looks like Star Wars collectors are an unusual group of buyers and in looking back at the OP's feedback over the years, it appears that many buyers are repeat customers.

However the feedback manipulation and shilling implication might be the thing that raised a red flag with ebay.

@caomaluco

I have a few observations:

1. Why do you do auctions? Most of your items sell at the opening bid and even most of the items with multiple bids have proxy bidding done by the same buyer in order to insure that he'll win the item. And because there are minimal bids and a starting price that seems to be the minimum amount you're willing to let the items go for, why wouldn't you have just done fixed price listings? It avoids the appearance of shill bidding and feedback manipulation.

2. We can't see where your buyers are located, a benefit that ebay does have. If many of the repeat buyers are in your country, ebay might view that as suspicious.

3. Another potential red flag is that you seem to have so many of the same (supposedly) discontinued items.

Disclaimer: I'm not a Star Wars buff so I don't know if it's normal to have a lot of identical collectibles. I'm just looking at this objectively.

I think it's too late for you to make changes now since you can't list anything but if they ever remove the restriction, you might want to reconsider the type of listings to run.

That’s incorrect. If you resolve an INR case it doesn’t count against your seller metrics.

@ebooksdiva

Yes, it does.  The policy was updated and was supposed to take effect July 24, but eBay started rolling it out early and many (especially international) sellers fell victim and found themselves suspended from selling and their payments on hold.

If a buyer wants to contact their seller regarding their order, one of the options is "item not received" and another that simply says "contact seller".  If they want to know the status of their order, if they choose the former "item not received" it automatically "opens a case"  (aka request) which is now a service metric ding.  Had the buyer just chosen the next option "contact the seller" there would be no metric ding awarded to the seller.  Last time I looked at the dropdown, these two choices were right above each other with the "item not received" choice shown first.  There is no notice to the buyer that says "choosing this opens a case/request against your seller, if you just want to ask a question use the contact seller option."

With the new update, they count simply because they were opened REGARDLESS of the outcome and REGARDLESS of any documentation that says the item was already delivered.

Naturally, international sellers are going to have a longer "delivery" time, so they were the first to complain about being booted from selling due to this.

Re: Why is ebay ripping me off???

Merhaba, 10 Temmuz'da hesabımın satış ayrıcalıkları da kısıtlandı.

In the email I got from eBay it says:

My INR files are in May and June. It was closed before July 2nd. In this case, these INR files should not be taken into consideration. But eBay takes them into consideration as well.
- Customer service also only gives copy/paste answers. Definitely not solution oriented.
