I see eBay is still playing games and moving the goalposts. Tired of this childish game from eBay. I intentionally upped my handling period to 5 days to set the expectation that delivery times are going to be slower. When I used to have it at 3 business days I would usually ship within 2 business days. I moved it to 5 business days because of various circumstances that have put my shipping & handling time to 3 business days to ship. Now I am back to my stuff showing delivery dates that aren't possible with the handling period I have set
And NO this isn't a shipping problem this is a SELLING PROBLEM. This is a SELLING PROBLEM because it is falsely representing to my customers when they will get their item. This is a SELLING PROBLEM when I risk strikes on my service metrics for INR cases. This is a SELLING PROBLEM when my buyers get upset because it took longer to get their item than expected!
Also this costs me money if the buyer decides to return because they didn't get it fast enough. "If your Guaranteed Delivery item isn’t on time, you can (1) return the item, for a refund of the full price and return shipping costs"

I'm kinda wondering if I should keep upping my handling time. Maybe I will set it at 30 days since eBay doesn't seem to care what I have things set at.

Yes! Same thing happened to me, super annoying. With the pandemic and the shipping delays with USPS (especially media mail) I upped my handling time to 5 days so the 5 days would get tacked on to the estimated delivery date. The shipping speeds have been so bad that it's taken 2 weeks for some of my Priority Mail packages to get delivered just a couple of states away. With all the delays with USPS over the past few months I don't want to get stuck having to refund an item not received case when the package will eventually be delivered. I just noticed when printing a label for media mail for a book purchased today that the estimated delivery date is next Thursday. Hmm... now how would the be possible if my handling time is 5 business days (with orange flags and everything)? 5 day handling time would put the delivery date the same day as the projected shipping date. Had no idea that was possible with media mail to have same day delivery to a few states over, especially during a pandemic. Crazy. If I get cases opened and have to refund due to delayed shipping, eBay better refund me my money once the tracking shows delivered.

Hmmm.... it seems to have fixed itself now for the time being (hopefully). Maybe it was just a glitch in the Thursday night update routing? I was about to print a label for another book and now got this message in the order info screen
"Ready to ship

Because it'd be too easy and boring to sell without a kick to the nuts every now and then, right?
And who'd want that? 😉

Wait, I got another one:
Because ebay isn't in the e-commerce business... they are in the torture sellers and let's see how many people we can peeve business.

in my opinion shows a lack of respect by eBay for it's sellers.

Same problem here. I had extended my handling times back in may because orders were taking forever to get delivered. ebay had honored my 4 day handling times up until a few days ago, then all of a sudden just started ignoring them entirely. Estimated delivery dates remain wrong no matter what.
I noticed the yellow flags disappeared as well.

OP,
Maybe the problem is that Ebay is ignoring your set handling time and going by your actual metrics. When Ebay cut the discount for TRS+ by 50% I set my handling time to 2 days instead of one. One of the best decisions I ever made on Ebay. But I keep getting reminded that I qualify for "Guaranteed Delivery". If I remember correctly I think they tried to set my handling time back to 1 day based on my shipping metrics. I had to reset everything to 2 days.
It is just one more example of Ebay thinking they know more about running your business than you do. Meanwhile they can not address very basic simple glitches (improvements). Example: I still can't properly print a FedEx label from Ebay on half sheet labels unless I take a screen shot and either create a drawing or print 2 up on a label.

Considering they constantly do it you'd think I would be used to it by now...

I'm still trying to figure out how I got in trouble for violating the alcohol selling policy with my auction of an empty advertising tin can that didn't even include a bottle!! I guess they don't need their cut of my $2,000 in sales over that suspension period. However, I'm missing that money and looking for other avenues that are more dependable.

You know I'm one of the MP sellers (opted in last August) who has set my handling time out to a ridiculous 15 Days, but I was considering slow MP payments and show pandemic shipping.
I'm only now considering chopping it to 7-10 (?) days, since MP is finally and consistently getting me my sales dollars to me in about 4 business days. I've been awfully lucky with quick USPS shipments so far. Wish me luck!

Ha, reminds me of Pavlov's dog. Trust me, you're gonna start to miss it when ebay decides to stop popping you in the crotch.
