I’m not a large seller by any means. I stay under 50 items per month (do not have a store) That being said, I usually sell close to 50 items just about every month.
Since the the beginning of June, I’ve had about 75% less sales.
All my items will show viewers for the first few minutes, some items will show viewers for almost 24 hours - none any more than 24 hours.
A lot of people in this forum are under the assumption this is a glitch, and the item is still receiving views, even if not being shown.
The evidence I’ve seen shows otherwise. Not sure why eBay is cycling sellers accounts into “blackout periods” but until they can inform us, individually, that they are doing so, I believe we all have a right to question and critique this practice.
For example,
I picked up a pair of Open Box Beats headphones locally, retail price $299, selling on eBay “new (other)” at an average price of $161 - I listed mine for $145 and had 90 views in an hour. Then nothing. I waited 24 hours, and suddenly it began to switch back and forth between 90 and 0 views. So no more views in that 24 hours?
This morning I got frustrated and relisted the item with a fresh new listing. I lowered the price to $140 (making it the lowest price for the item new other) and again had over 100 views in a small window of a couple hours.
Then suddenly a couple hours later the view counter stopped rising - and guess what? The views reset to 0, and I’ve heard nothing from any potential buyers since.
I do not think eBay sellers are asking too much to be treated fairly, with respect, and to not be subjected to weird rolling tests or other restrictions we were never told about.

OP, same here, 100%...only we can see our stuff.

If you had views and then suddenly your counter reset, it seems to me that it is a problem with the view counter, not that your items are being hidden. Jmho

The view counter problem is a well-known issue over the last week. eBay is aware of it, and I'm sure eBay's top software engineers in India are working on it.
In the meantime, whatever information you are seeing in Seller Hub is not reliable, and you cannot use that information to speculate on how much your items are being viewed.

The pages are also not the same. During the dead times your taken to a sales page that shows up when you first list an item, before its visable in a search. During the good times the page shows more information like time remaining, things like that. They are not the same page.

Ebay hasn't fixed half the problems they rolled out with the Spring Update. Now they have added and changed things around again with the Summer Update. Ebay please stop adding and changing features until you have fixed the last batch. It's a buyers and sellers nightmare on this site.

Not true, I searched for my listings on a friends computer without signing in. I clicked on them then checked the view count when I got home. It was still the same. You are getting views but they arent being counted all the time.

When I search "Disneyland orgy", the first of your first items is #2 under Best Match.
When I search "Petagno", the first of your first items is #1 under Best Match.
When I search "easyrider blacklight", the first of your first items is #3 under Best Match.

I believe the sellers should be somewhat compensated because of all the problems with glitches lately . We've had to endure a lot and I truly think all of the tech issues have had a negative impact on sales . Then for us to be expected to still pay full sellers fees as if nothing has happened seems a bit much to ask . Tulips

I've sold 190 items in the month of June so far and my views counter has been broken, showing either a -- or a zero on MANY items and it's been ongoing for many weeks.
Yet, I'll probably sell over 200 items by the tune the month is over despite my views counter being broken for weeks now.
Clearly it's a cosmetic glitch and nothing more. If it wasn't, then I wouldn't have sold nearly 200 items in June, would I? Considering the views counter has been glitching for most of June for me.
My sales are even up 40% from this time last month, and last month had a perfectly good working views counter that wasn't glitching, and I'm still up 40% from last month in sales.
It's cosmetic, people...

Aren't we allowed to attach 3rd party view counters to our listings? If so, would that be a temporary band-aid to remedy the situation and find out if we truly are getting views or not?
