Why ebay doesn't flag sales notifications as 'important'

I posted an item for sale in October and nobody was interested in it for a long time so I stopped checking it...

Until I logged back in in March and realized the item was actually sold back in February and the buyer has already applied for a refund which was successful.

This happened because I was not properly notified by Ebay on the sale. Why doesn't Ebay flag sales notifications as 'important'? Instead it puts them among bunch other promotional messages, where it is quite hard to notice items requiring action?

Just look at the screenshot attached and tell me, how am I supposed to notice this important notification among the bunch of spam?

EBay could simply send a priority email notification and message for every sale, or at least give users the option to select such notification.  it would not be hard for them.

Checking ten time a day...seventy times a week...for a single sale is not a time efficient or necessary way of doing business.

2 or 3 times a day I look at seller hub to see if I have made any sales or received any

messages from ebay or a potential buyer.

I Never miss a thing that way.

Your problems will be compounded if the buyer gives you a Neg and you go to -1

IMO this is all on you.  Ebay is not in charge of YOUR account per say.  YOU should be looking at YOUR  e Bay account at least once a day.  I check mine at least 10 times a day in between listing stuff, editing things, etc.  Even when we are in Honduras diving I check it @6AM, 1PM, 6PM and throughout the evening.

All on you!!

You're expected to read the title of the email not just the sender ID.  Haste makes waste.

Everyday and several times a day I look at the bell notification in the upper right corner and I go to the seller hub to see if there are items "awaiting shipment". I never check the messages.

Superstars and rockstars invariably act as apologists for every failed policy and glitch eBay ever comes up with, O.P.    Ignore them.

Your are right.  These need to be PRIORITY NOTIFCATIONS.

serg,

I am in my 28th year of Internet access. I do not have any recollection of ever reading a post that sounded more entitled than yours.

Wouldn't have mattered if notice was "priority"............you didn't check messages until March.

@stevemartin60 Not an apologist just a realist.

I cannot tolerate people who think everything should be handed to them, not have to work for everything they receive, who think they are entitled, abuse every "assistance" program out there or make excuses for every failure that comes into their lives.

I have had items listed since March of last year. I have re-listed them continuosly. Some times I don't get an order for over a week. But yet each day, I check for orders at least 5 to 10 times a day. Not only via e-mail from E-Bay but by opening up the over view page and checking everything from orders, questions etc.

To me you need to do a check this way also.

Rockstars and superstars are almost ALWAYS apologists for eBay shortcomings, unncessary and failed reprogramming, major glitches, non-egalitarian policies, etc., etc.

May be you are an exception, but I have definitely noticed that trend here.

@stevemartin60 Apparently it WAS necessary for the OP to check numerous times since they lost the sale, had to have e bay step in to refund and the OP received a defect on their account.  In addition to disappointing a real buyer which hurts the majority of us who are selling "normal" priced items.

So you tell me whose way is more necessary.
