Did you mean:

Why don't you just FIX the sight?

Ebay is changing categories and adding this and adding that and moving this here and that there. Hey Ebay you will NEVER be Amazon. Why don't you just be Ebay? Forget about all and I do mean all the changes and just fix your site.  I really don't think that there is any area on Ebay that doesn't have some sort of a glitch. On my home page it says I have 6 unread messages. They are all over 90 day old and I can't remove them. I have customers telling me that it says I don't ship to their area. Now before you tell me that's an old glitch and there is a "work around" let me say this. I know that and I don't want a work around I want it fixed. I can't tell you how many times I have tried to go to a page and I get this stupid message "It's not you It's US".  Hey Ebay I know it's you and I with you would fix it and forget about all the changes. Maybe you're beholding to some foreign country and that's why this is happening. If that's the case you have got to be the most inept business people on the face of the earth. Now I know you would love nothing more than to get rid of all of us that sell vintage items and collectibles but you know something that is what built Ebay. Instead of trying to get rid of us why don't you embrace it? Enough said just fix the blasted site.

I had control of my money with Paypal. When people signed up for mangled payments, they gave eBay complete control of their money. eBay declared themselves everyone's CFO (Chief Financial Officer).

Down 2 cents? Less than half a percent.

Not quite a boom. More like a finger snap.

(I do wish it was a boom. That would be the ONLY way eBay would rethink what it does)

Re: Why don't you just FIX the sight?

eBay is too blinded by greed (or the need to please shareholders) that they can't even see how they are continuing to drive off more buyers. This fiasco this week was ridiculous, and looked like it was implemented by a 6th grade programming class. Honestly, the class probably would have done better. Their new idea of search will be confusing for many long time buyers.

On the upside, views are way up on the other site I'm now selling on exclusively of eBay.

You never had control of your money with Paypal - they fronted us loans and held our hands, and they could take that away at any time.  They could also just dip into your account any time, and when people bragged that they 'swept' the money from the account every day, Paypal could easily come after them and tap their bank account or their credit card (on file) to draw what they needed to if there were claims. Plenty of threads with anguished sellers who had this happen to them, or were frantically topping up their Paypal accounts which would be driven into the negative by returns/cases.

If you want *complete* control of your money, sell on site in cash (which plenty of people have been doing).

Yes, eBay seems to be a mess right now, but it's not because of the same system they use as Etsy has had for years, or Poshmark and Mercari for that matter (Amazon and a bunch of other sites, too).

Not to mention that PayPal can and will freeze your account if you violate their rules, and any money you had in it? Say bye-bye, because you're not getting it back.

Re: Why don't you just FIX the sight?

This unnecessary change of categories is ridiculous!! Do you think the people setting up the new categories are even familiar with antique and vintage items? People like to browse. I know I do. Especially in specific categories like Victorian jewelry. If one is selling a one of a kind item, how could anyone do a search for it? As a vintage jewelry seller, I know that my customers also like to scroll through the category for what's come in new. All of my categories are gone - Bakelite & Plastics, Victorian jewelry, Designer signed costume, Signed sterling jewelry, Scandinavian, the list goes on. Now it's just generic bracelets and charms or antique pins. I called last night to complain and also the night before. PLEASE!! I encourage all of you to do the same. If enough of us call, they sometimes listen and change things back.

You are correct so stop comparing them to Amazon.  NO Ebay is not, and does not want to be Amazon. That has nothing to do with your problems anyway.

eBay is too busy making the pages of this site pretty and developing house money rakes that put more money in their pocket but don't improve sales to do any maintenance on the site.

Did you notice that the "Helpful, Cancel, and Reply" buttons on these pages aren't rectangles anymore ?

They rounded the ends of them a couple months back, isn't that nice ?

Then they took our views and rolled out PLA, the super house money rake and hoped that we would use it to get our views back.

Meanwhile, due to a severe lack of maintenance, the site crumbles and barely operates as it should.

It's kind of taking on the persona of a sleazy, start-up casino, right ?

I visited one once on an Indian reservation in Colorado. It was a metal quonset hut building with a sawdust floor and one-armed bandits lined the interior length of the sides. The roof leaked, and they were selling sodas out of an ice chest for a dollar. Today it is a lavish building 10 times the size of the original hut and features 150 slot machines, 10 Black Jack tables, 15 Poker tables, a lengthy full service bar, and they are online. Built from gambling proceeds.

Seems to me eBay is running their business model in reverse.

Good for the folks on the Rez!

And yeah, only a fool can lose money running a casino and I'm not sure how well the gamble here is going to work.

Re: Why don't you just FIX the sight?

I get surveys on the forums. In the comments section I always say:

"Read your forums and fix the problems that people are talking about".

I'll bet nobody reads the surveys.

They have this great, free research tool that tells them what they need to fix first, and they don't use it.

The site's not even that pretty.
