For this new tax policy they created for people who sell over $600 in one year. I have filled out that form weeks ago and they have my Social Security Number or Tax identity number. Why won't they release my funds for my sales over the last few weeks?? There is no more personal information I can give them. They literally have everything you can think of to identify a person. My address, my credit card info, my phone number, my drivers license number and photo of me, my social security number, my tax number, my date of birth, my bank account info - all of it. I need to get paid and they are messing around. The only thing they do not already have are my fingerprints and DNA!

This is what happens when a company that is not well versed in financial operations attempts to executes something like MP and handle tax related activities. While I am sure they have a whole staff of CPA's and accountants taking care of their own financial matters with the SEC and investors they have not always done such a transparent job of expeditiously taking care of their sellers.
Customer support is basically useless unless you go through the Facebook connection. At this point that may be your best avenue to resolve the situation.

How long since your sales? It appears that you recently returned to sales which would make you essentially a new seller again. As a new seller, your payments can be held for 21 days or more.

Double check that your account name matches the name on your bank account & other information that they are requesting from you. Another avenue would be to reach out to ebay for business on Facebook to chat/talk with an agent. Have you tried reaching out directly for ebay seller help for ebay managed payment issues?
Good luck

Follow up with what others have been advising:
https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/
These are credible US cs agents who work for ebay (not subcontracted) and perhaps they can help you out with your situation. Many positive posts here on these boards with their ability to help and solve the issue.
Good luck to you.

Which part exactly are they saying needs to be updated? If it's a payments issue, there should be a red banner across the top of your Seller Hub indicating what you need to do.

I double checked everything and all of the information is correct. I just filled it out again and it was accepted, now I have a message saying that if they need any more information they will get back to me. But they still have not released any payments. I'm wondering if they do this often to all sellers just so they can gain interest on the money they are holding in their account that actually belongs to the sellers.. Even if they have 1 million dollars "on hold" across all sellers, that is a big amount of interest they will accrue and keep.

My sales have been gradual throughout the year. I'm not a new seller because I have always had multiple things listed at a time for years now. I haven't had 0 items for sale in almost 7 years.

If they do not release the funds by the end of the week, I will go to the direct Facebook connection. They seem to think that I am selling things just for them and want nothing in return. The money is legally owed to ME so this is ridiculous. It's time to start comparing Amazon seller fees to eBay.

Yes, every bit of information matches and is correct. Yet, every time I submit it, I get the same red notification on the top of my selling page days later like I never did it.

It is a very common problem for eBay to keep asking to update your account details, causing funds to be on hold, and delays in payments to hundreds of sellers, but there is no one issue when they need to charge you back on the same account, that goes with flying colors... Now, why is that?

Zombie Thread I would hope the OP has the problem fixed by now.

This is not a new tax policy -- the IRS just changed the level at which sales have to be reported.
And, if by "they created" you are referring to eBay, please note that eBay does not create tax policies.

I've had this same issue for the last month. Payments not on hold but if I don't get my information updated by x date they will be. I've gone through chat, I've had them call me, every time it's "yeah everything looks fine we're escalating it to the compliance team and it should be taken care of within 48 hours" ... well, it's been at least 6 different 48 hour periods with no change. I guess if my latest attempt doesn't take care of it I'll try the facebook route. All of my info and everything has been setup and working perfectly fine ever since they rolled out Ebay payments, but now suddenly they want to act like there's a problem. Utterly ridiculous.
