Why does Ebay automatically always favor the buyer? And of course, Ebay offers no customer service.

Figure this is the best to complain about the frustrations with Ebay. I had a customer claim "not as described" because they didn't like the color. Anyone else have trouble describing the exact color of something? Right, because there are nearly infinite variations of colors out there and they can't be described perfectly. I appealed the case, but what does Ebay do? Favor the buyer. I try to contact them. The "help" section on this website gave me the run around. I finally was able to send an email, of course, no contact phone number was given. The email response I got back seemed suspiciously formatted. I wonder if anyone even reviewed my appeal? No matter, really, because Ebay never favors the seller, do they?  So irritating.

eBay used to say because monitors can show different shades that wrong color is not snad. If the color was blue it didn't matter what shade of blue. However, if they ordered blue and got pink then it was snad.

But the deal now is eBay doesn't determine if the color is as described or not. How can they if they don't have the item in their hands? They don't make the buyer prove their claim and you can't prove what you sent. So the buyer automatically gets a refund. If you want the item returned you must accept the return and provide a return label. Otherwise eBay will refund and let them keep it.

Well that is interesting. It seems that they change things little by little in ways that make it harder on the sellers. Thankfully, I did get the item returned to me. And it certainly wasn't as if I claimed pink when it was blue. It was a shade of color that didn't match an exact shade of something else she owned and so she said it wasn't as described. I even put disclaimers in my listings saying that colors are hard to describe. But no matter, apparently.

And in case anyone cares, here is the "disclaimer" I even put in my listings:

Sometimes colors appear different in person than they show up in pictures. There are also so many variations of each color. It is hard to always describe colors exactly. I do my best, but please please allow for some variation or ask questions before purchase if you need a color to be very specific. Thank you. 

 

Seems so fair and reasonable of ebay to favor the buyer (eye roll).

Ebay primarily watches out for the buyer’s interest. Sellers must look out for their own. Knowing the rules and procedures eBay has is probably the best way to be prepared to sell here.
