Why do some stores have a eBay stores search within store box on listing pages and some do not?

Why do some stores have a eBay stores search within store box on listing pages and some do not? We have 2 stores and only one has this feature. Have a buddy who just opened a store and would this added to his listings also. Called eBay but no one could tell us anything except maybe it had to do with the duration/length store has been up. This makes no sense when this is a benefit to all the buyer, seller and eBay (more sales). Searched Google and could not find anything. Can anyone here explain/advise as to how to add to stores that do not currently have it?

It has been a long time since I set up my store, but I think this may be what you are looking for.  From Seller Hub Overview page, click on Manage Store (in Selling Tools).  When that page opens, under Promotional Tools, click on Listing Frame.  I did a screenshot of what I see for my store and I do have the search store box.  I hope this helps.

It has to be set up to show that in your listings.  To do that, go to 'manage my store' and under store marketing click on listing frame.  You'll see the options that you want under store header.

Edit...I typed too slow! 😞  Also, my info may be slightly different because my store is on .ca, not on .com.

Last year 2018, in June, they made a lot of changes to stores, one of which was to remove the search box and make the top box work in stores instead, as well as  several other changes There were various screwups and they walked the changes back and forth, as I remember.....all stores were supposed to be changed to the "New" store, but weren't, customized stores were supposed to be changed to the new stuff the next August.........they weren't.  According to what they told us at Ebay Live, it seemed that the stores team quit/were fired in the middle so what was planned for the next rollout to make the grand new enhancements was never rolled out.......hence you have the 2 versions, plus all kinds of things within the store that won't work.....no on sale feature,  no way to change the store to list or gallery view and a few other things.

there have been a couple of posts on the tech board lately about problems with the "old" store layout, which required people to change to the "new" store.......

You're referring to the search box on the store page and I remember when that changed.  But the op was asking about the 'store' search box on the listing page itself.  If you go to any of my listings (from my store or from see listings) you'll see that they have my store heading with a search box as well as the store categories on the left. I know my store was changed at some point to a 'newer' store and I don't know if I have the newest version but as far as I can tell, that search box on the header is still available to store owners.

You are correct, that is where it should be and with store 1 it is and, does show up on each listing. Unfortunately under store 2's (Gina's Vintage Finds) Listing Frame / Customize your store header, it is not there?

Maybe this store was caught up in what @dhbookds described in their response?  If this is something you would like to report, you might want to tag a Blue to this thread.  Sorry I could not be of more help.

That page is different than mine as well so it is likely because of the different types of stores as dhbookds suggested.
