I have been on eBay forever but haven't listed anything for awhile. I listed one item and sold it. I get a lame email from eBay with a heading: "Your sold item is ready to ship" which of course went straight to spam. I mean can't eBay send an email that says something like: "ITEM (whatever the listing name) SOLD!" like they used to send? Is it supposed to be a secret when an item sells? Am I supposed to check my selling stats every 5 minutes? This is such an easy thing for eBay to do, why can't they make it easy on the seller?

Technology is free from repetitive task. Each task you describe is a different thing to check. No need to check any of them more than once a day at most. The stock market will drive you crazy, you should skip that one as there is nothing you can do about it anyway.

No, but if you have items listed for sale you should be logging into eBay itself at least once a day to make sure you don't have any sales/offers/messages/notifications/etc.
